If red meat and dairy are stuff that you might think will mess up your digestion (it is a case for me, unfortunately) there are still options. Autumn, for instance, mentions WHOLE eggs. I'd suggest salmon, tuna or any other fatty fish of your preference. When I got into managing my body weight, I fell into the trap of snacks and I'd have "healthy" protein bars; nowadays, although I don't have snacks since I am intermittent fasting (Autumn got me into it), not anymore for weight loss but I find it assists me in being less stressed and more focused to my daily routine, I'd say beef jerky or boiled eggs could be decent snack options. As for walking, call me a psycho but even when it's extremely hot I'll still go for a walk just to clear my head and get some air and sunlight. Cheers. P.S. today is my graduation day from university and I felt like sharing it :).

What about if you can't really eat meats and can't do a lot of fats especially animal fats? I am fat intolerant and now no gallbladder, I don't do low fat dairy but I also cannot have really high fat dairy as it makes me extremely sick. Dairy is something i have to limit, meats unless i feel like them i avoid as for years i had allergic reactions to them (instant rash requiring steriods to clear). Mostly eat chicken or seafood if body asks for them, but with allergies and issues tolerating a lot of fat following this advice wouldn't work. I add protein where I can, i add protein powder to my morning smoothie as it keeps me full until lunchtime. But i often only eat twice a day, maybe a snack too. But 3 meals is next to impossible for me, if I'm hungry i eat as i do struggle with eating enough at times. Are there alternatives to get in what you need? Because I'd lose weight doing this as my body would be working hard to get it out of my system asap, but I'd not be functional as I'd be in so much pain I'd not be sleeping or able to do anything....

Losing weight is about calories in and calories out. Telling people to eat “healthy” calorie dense foods doesn’t help them. I’m not trying to recomp my body. I’m trying to lose weight. After I get to a weight I’m happy with, I will work on building muscle. The cut comes first.

Not always true, I have done omad paleo for 35+ years (It started as food scarcity as a child and that's just how I was trained to eat) about a year and a half ago I doubled my calories which consisted mostly of fat and protein and my body finally started to release the 20 lb that It has been carrying most of my life. Most people are over eaters but many people especially women are chronic undereaters yet can still be overweight. I track my calories to make sure I get in enough. It's a struggle, I have to force myself to eat everyday but if I want to lose weight I have to eat much more than I was.

@@tammiehammett5054 The eat more to lose is a myth. Follow Eric Robert’s or Dr. Layne Norton. If reducing calories is not the mechanism to lose weight, show me the study that indicates it’s something else. You can’t because it doesn’t exist. If I want to lose a pound a week, I need to expend 3500 more calories for the week than I eat. That’s 500 calories a day. If I need to be at 1250 a day to get to the 3500 for the week, I can’t do that by eating 2500 calories of “healthy” food. I will have to figure out what to eat to stay at 1250 a day.

@@dawnt5587If you concentrate on a diet that is high in protein and fats and cut out carbohydrates, sugar and processed foods then you will lose weight. Then when you get to the point that your weight loss plateaus then you need to incorporate exercise to increase muscle mass which will help to boost your metabolism which will in turn help to restart the weight loss.

Unfortunately I became hungry 24/7 while post partum & breastfeeding in 2023 and I while I ate mostly healthy my diet has gotten increasingly more sugary so I’m trying to get back on the IF, daily walks and increased fat/protein lifestyle.

However, every time I tried during my previous breastfeeding journey, my supply dipped significantly. Help!

It’s for this reason that I didn’t even bother to try to lose weight after my second baby (I had good supply and didn’t want to mess with it). I’m 26 months postpartum and starting “postpartum body decomposition” now. I’m the same weight as after giving birth! Have 30lb to lose… Brewers yeast is supposed to help with supply, and there are other natural galactogogues. Increase protein intake, try to get more active (walks, doesn’t need to be the gym). Stay hydrated. I did Noom, very strict with calorie intake, got 10,000 steps minimum a day. I lost tons of weight after my first but supply was low. 🤷🏻‍♀️ good luck!

@@ElleMonzon Thank you for this insight! For context, I have PCOS and a lower carb lifestyle seems to really help with those symptoms, however, whenever I'd try low carb or IF postpartum while nursing my supply absolutely dropped. Weight watchers has a setting for nursing moms, and I tried it, but I have historically really struggled to stick with WW. I'm 23 weeks pregnant now and I'm planning on implementing WW after 3-6 months PP. Thank you for sharing about noom, I really struggled with it when I tried it.

I think some people tend to snack too often throughout the day and then they are consuming far more calories than they are able to burn, which prevents them from reaching their weight loss, fitness and health goals.
