My kids 7 & 8 eats Kallax Surströmming and we are from Stockholm and we would be glad to do it with you the propper way. We all eat it in a different way, but all in a correct way.

My mom and sisters literally drooled when talking about surströmming... Like as if it was a drug. When they got it the put in on tunnbröd, added boiled potatoes sliced, sourcreme, dill and the fish. I was sceptic but tried once, and it was not all that bad. The bread, potato, sourcreme and dill makes a big difference obviously. You are not supposed to swallow the fish fileés only!!🤣😂🤣

Yes! I concur with this statement. Try the whole tradition - not just the fish. Don't forget the schnapps!

Wtf The surströmming can is opened in a water filed bucket OUTSIDE. Then you rinse it OUTSIDE. Then u make a proper ”surströmmingsklämma” with some potato,onions,västerbottenost,butter,sour cream and just some small picks of surströmming. Rinse it down with some flavoured vodka. After that get naked jump in a lake then hit the sauna. Now that’s a proper ”surströmmings skiva” Oh and what happens in the sauna stays in the sauna 👀

@@LocationUnlocked Oh yes. Me and my family loves it. If you get enough people that want you to try it I can send you a can :) You could try eating it with flat bread, onions, soure creme and boiled potatoes. A surströmming wrap. That's a good way to start enjoying surströmming.
