Thank you! Really good information. I have inherited 4 cockatiels and one budgie from a friend who had passed. Your videos are invaluable! They have a large flight cage, 8 feet long, 7 feet high. I have been adding new perches and toys you recommend. They are so amazing. I really want to give them a good life. You are doing good work for the animals. Thank you! FYI I had been considering the tent like item, so glad to learn it is not a good idea.

Oh my gosh I’ve never heard of the Quiet Me that looks terrible! Those jello cup things are hilarious, I forgot all about those 😂 WHYYYYYY 😂 I agree on those millet holders that birds can get trapped in them. Personally, I have some spiral holders but the opening is tiny and it’s literally impossible for them to stick their head in because it tapers at the top. It’s actually a struggle to even get the millet in there! I just have them out on playstands, on occasion (not often) I put short sprigs of millet in them and call it their millet party, just a fun way for them to all eat together and spend time as a flock. A lot of people have commented (and on Facebook groups they’ve removed photos they’re visible in) they’re not safe but I swear, I would never give my birds anything potentially unsafe. These SPECIFIC holders are safe, and since they only get them at the occasional out of the cage playtime, they’re always supervised with them anyway. I’m very picky about what I give my birds, I strive to be the best bird mom I can be!

As always, an entertaining and informative video, thanks so much! I will say, I've never understood the desire to give birds all these weird things! I'm new to birds, but I keep tropical fish, and one of the first things I do, if I'm thinking of keeping a new species, is look up their natural habitat and lifestyle, so I know what they've evolved to need in their environment, although I do live with a quaker who loves brightly coloured plastic above all other things! I also dislike all training 'gadgets' apart from a clicker, they purport to solve a problem without understanding why the problem is happening in the first place :(

Great video. Glad you mentioned the jelly cups and the millet holder they should be banned! I've never actually seen the flashing gadget so that's a bit shocking they sell something like this🙈, wrong on every level....it'll only make things worse and can increase the chance the birds start plucking.

I personally feel it’s better to keep the room warm for our health as well as the birds rather than use something electrical in their cage!

I’m cold, so I thought the bird would too… Yet, I looked up the room temp range for cocktiels on Google and it said: “68 and 75 degrees”. Is that ok? I remember on some video you’d mentioned the temperature range, but I’m not sure what it was.

I think the panel is okay but make sure the perch is long enough to move away from it. I have heard the heated perches can burn their feet so I would avoid those. That being said, if they are not old or sick they have quite a bit of floof to keep them warm. The only time I ever considered using one myself was in a hospital cage and I was going to put it on one side so they could move away if they got too hot. I ended up just raising the temp in the room though.
