At day 3, me and my 10y/old son were also there in the afternoon, my 3rd mtb trail ride, my confidence has been picking up and at 4:46 of your video I did exactly what you did, the ramp on the right, my son stopped abruptly next to the tree at 4:46 and despite giving him some 7seconds headstart on the ramps I was carrying too much speed and went into his back tyre and injured myself, I had an order for a trail tyre but hadn't arrived yet, super strong 180mm hydrolic discs are no good when you have basic tyres with little grip. Definitely ordering a second trail tyre now. We had a good day though 57min/11.3km. Your videos are very helpful, cheers.

Oh damn. Hope you and your son are ok, big brakes are nothing if the tyres are no good, so good thing you've got some on order. Glad you're enjoying the videos

@TWLBJ Thanks, just went on his back tyre and bumped up and down hard and lost grips, barely even fell, I leaned on that tree so I didn't even fall, son was ok. I am also ordering grippy grips as the commuter style oval ones I have are slippery. Another mistake I think I made was not wearing full finger gloves.

Ask good to hear it was very minor. These are all the things we learn at the beginning, gloves, tyres, brakes etc... Don't worry you'll figure out what you need and just get out there and have fun

This sort of challenge looks familiar 😉Well done Todd. It takes a special effort like this to blow out the cobwebs and reconnect with riding sometimes. The effort is worth it though - as you found.

Yea it was tough to find the time but glad I got it there and did it

@@TWLBJ Time is the biggest challenge, not the trail. Conquered..... for 5 days!

That's so good - 5 days - kudos! and I agree with Jason, Jealous I am also. With Daylight Saving over, there's no way I can get to Wylde in the afternoon, you're blessed with your location. Congrats on your new job, I might have to do the same :)

Congratulations on 5 days. I’m so jealous. I understand you have a new job coming up but don’t underestimate the mental health benefits of Mtb riding.

Yea true, it's amazing on the trail. Just finding the time to get out there may be more difficult, but I'll make it work
