For me, I had 2 focus spot 3Zs and wound up selling them since they weigh a lot, and I typically go on my own, or with 2 other people. They were replaced with 2 smaller ADJ Pocket Pros, 1 EV Evolve 50m, 1 Evolve 50, 2 EV ELX200 18SPs, 1 ADJ Entour Chill, 1 Nimbus, which is only used when someone helps me out, a 4 or 6 panel Dj Facade that looks like the one in this video, typically, the 4 is what I use, which is backlit with an ADJ Mega Bar. For venues that allow cold fireworks, I use 2 Veyvor 700 watt cold Spark Machines. For my music, I use 1 MacBook Pro 2017, and as a backup, 1 new Dell Gaming PC laptop with an Nvidia 3060 and an 8 core 16 thread i7. For additional lighting I have 8 wireless, rechargeable par lights, 2 Totem Stands, an ADJ Ikon IR 80 watt model for wedding and event Gobo projections, and a series of smaller effects lights that are only used for venues. For my mixer I use either my Numark NV2, or my small, portable Nvidia MixTrack Platinum, if there’s someone who’ll be singing, or performing any songs from the Wedding party, I bring out my PV AT10 BT mixer. I don’t provide large screens though. This whole setup took time to get, especially after surviving an accident that occurred when a drunk driver going the wrong way on a one way street hit me and left me for dead while I was crossing the street. Watching your videos was inspirational given that my setup was once 2 Mackie Thump 15s and a Hercules DJ Air DJ Deck. As a Haitian immigrant, watching my family lose everything after a coup to get to the US taught me how to hustle. I went from a full time art director and illustrator, to a full time DJ with chronic pain from my accident, so I had to be able to move my gear around easily, hence the Evolve 50s. Thank you for being an inspiration. Your videos were my goal to reach in terms of presentation. My setup is not comparable to this at all, but, it feels good to be able to provide a small part of that for people who’ve been hiring me to be their wedding, event DJ. Best wishes!

Awsome Setup! The only thing that I dont like are the bulky speakers and the single 828sp, I would choose something like the RCF NX-44 and two AS-8004 Subs per side. But I know ur a JBL user, so its a nobrainer that you are bringing your own gear. Just a little suggestion for improvement! Keep it up! Greetings

How do you factor the charge to customer for setup of something like this, especially if you are renting it all, is it a percentage or what? Rental fee for the equipment = $?, Amount charged to customer = $?
@guyhermanson30024 жыл бұрын
Brian S. Redd did a video on that exact topic. He mentioned charging clients a percentage of your equipment used such as between 5 to 10% of that amount. Then adding travel expenses, office fees, insurance, and labor. So take a look for his video.
