@@EDMTips I've got this song that starts with a chord being kind of "strummed" on the keys. The strum starts a little before the first downbeat and ends a little after it. So in order to get the whole song to start in time, I can either add a 1/4 measure at the beginning (a full 4/4 is just too long to wait after re-winding), or I can put a negative delay on the keys. The 1/4 is annoying, and the problem with the negative delay is that the time shown in the transport lines up with the keys, making everything else appear off. Is there some way to get the transport to start at a negative time instead of 1.1.1?

lots of great tips! thank you! tip 29: you can also blend those different sounds together and fade between them by using the "chain" of the group, create fades between the chains and apply it to a knob. I also use this a lot fot different effects on an audio track. if an effect doesn't have a dry/wet knob, you can create a dry chain and an effects chain and blend between those two

Hell yeah! Great tips! Thanks as always. One thing I've been doing lately instead of having a separate click track to sidechain from is to use the compressor's sidechain EQ to isolate the top end of the kick only and drive it a bit with the input gain. It ends up being the same as a separate click track but you are guaranteed to have the compressor fire whenever the kick triggers. Helpful if you change up the 4-to-the-floor to a more breakbeat style pattern somewhere in the mix and still want to compress the other tracks. Though it's not as good of a solution if you keep a consistent 4 beat and also add fills using the same kick. Just another tip for y'all!

Cheers!!! Outstanding video as usual 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾. To speed my workflow, I got into using the contour shuttle pro with the jog wheel and buttons so I can move clips/notes etc. around really quickly and precisely- and assign hot keys respectively. There are too many really good hot keys, so I then added an Elgato Stream Deck to assign a few dozen more hot keys for easy one-button pressing that really speeds up workflow. Do you have a peripheral devices for hot keys. etc, that you use to facilitate your workflow?
