Here's some actual info that might help. 1) Never buy paper products or toiletries at Aldi. Walmart is ALWAYS cheaper. 2) The only meat that is CONSISTENTLY cheaper at Aldi is pork half loin and 80/20 ground beef (if you buy the 1lb frozen packages) 3)Yes, technically, the deli meat that he bought at Aldi is cheaper but that brand is extremely low quality and tastes awful! 4) While the crackers/cookies at Aldi may seem cheaper, you need to look at the amount in the package compared to Walmart brand. By the oz, you are actually paying more at Aldi. Overall, Aldi has gotten a lot more expensive especially in the last year. For a one stop shop, Walmart is a better choice for anyone on a budget!

@@mickeyscott7479 These tips are from my personal shopping experience. My husband and I have 3 children and a tight budget. I shopped almost exclusively at Aldi for years. However, I have noticed increasing prices there over the last couple of years and started closely comparing especially taking note of the per unit prices. Of course, it could be different where you live as prices always vary by location and you should absolutely do your own research into your local stores.👍

@@BrokeCollegeChef An "eyeball" comparison says Aldi wins on enjoyable variety of food consumption. As for food longevity once consumption has started, your Aldi selection wins over your Walmart selection. If you had picked hamburger and potatoes at Walmart, you would have slayed Aldi provided you didn't buy those same items at Aldi.

Your comparing totally different products. Apples and oranges. For me it is better value to shop sales at giant rather than shop at walmart except for specific items. All meat is cheaper at Giant plus some preservative is used on meat at walmart plus quality of meat is superior Walmart wins on all toiletries. Fresh fruits and veggies are usually better quality and sale items are cheaper. Frozen goods are same or better at Giants plus you have much more variety. Processed meats and non brand cheeses are cheaper at walmart. Many products i prefer arent available at walmart. Unless i need alot of non good items i will normally avoid walmart.

I buy just about everything at these two stores and I find it really varies. Aldi FEELS cheaper, but you have to check the “per” price. For example Aldi’s cheese seems cheaper but the packaging is small. With a few exceptions it actually ends up being cheaper per pound at Walmart. They both have their place and do what they do well. It definitely takes work to find the best deals each time! Give the kid a break, folks - these are his real groceries and you can’t expect him to get the exact thing at both stores just for our entertainment!
