Greetings Vince, a nice charming episode just watching the world go by. Loved the boat rally scenes, all the hustle and bustle at 3 knots. You beat me to the Ken joke, I was looking forward to adding that to my comments. It's so sad about Prunella's illness but the way Tim looks after her shows true love. As for your low clouds, I also lived in Norfolk for a while and because it was so flat the sky looked vast. Locals called it the Big Sky effect. My normal cruising speed was somewhere between slow and comatose. I loved trundling along with just enough speed to maintain steerage. I'd do just as you and pull over for faster boats, I was in no hurry. Keep up the good work, cheers Kevin

I lived in Braunston for many years when it was quite a sleepy Agatha Christie type of place and walked the walke the walks daily but things changed as always and I moved on . Some of the people were lovely ,some not , but you get that everywhere . Summer days by the canal were lovely and winter walks along oast moored boats smelled gorgeous from al the diffeent types of wood burning in there little stoves Frosty mornings were beautiful woth all the spiders webs coated with icy drops and sparkling . It was lovely revisiting in your video . A lot of the old village houses will no doubt have new inhabitants , as the very old ones will have probably passed on now .

well, I try hard to shut up look away, and go on. but after 3-4 years of watching narrow boaters vids from the USA, I would probably briefly look at them with arms raised in a manner that mirrors my face with mouth hanging open and in a short burst of quick small head shaking of a no just long enough to hope they saw it out of the corner of their eye, right as they passed with shouting some small form of apology, which of would instantly give me a smile and a wave and a shout to then "its fine, happens" since I am commenting, You are the first narrowboat vid I have ever seen whereas every other one has cloud shots, with the commentary, they are beautiful, or stunning, etc etc. you said I feel I can reach out and touch them. I believe everyone in the world who is not blind, has said that when they were a child. as an adult is rarely mentioned again. I think this might be your best video so far and have watched all you put out since you began, I subscribed after seeing your first video a year ago. So Congrats are in order... Great job! I try to give all new narrow boaters beginning full episode view, maybe 2+ if it looks promising before subscribing. and so may fail I believe is because they make so much of their vids basically a music video played too loud in the background with scenic canal video and really often with no pop in their voice-over or cheap microphone. lol, or a dull drone monotone talks on themselves on their couch for 30 mins. You have risen to the top, of the year-old newbie narrowboat vids class

My only time on a narrowboat was a hire from Rugby and we came down the Hillmorton locks and into Braunston. I was also impressed with it and could have spent a couple of days there but we only had a weekend hire and I wanted to go as far as possible. The boat you had an issue with was definitely at fault for making you have to go into the bank. They had so much room. When you were looking for somewhere to moor and thinking you would have to do the locks, I knew you would be ok as we moored where you ended up. That pub you passed them at was very quiet was open and we had a nice meal there
@NarrowboatCruisingLifestyle2 жыл бұрын

@@NarrowboatCruisingLifestyle Loved it Vince but being only a weekend meant you couldn’t really experience proper canal time. It was in March so we were limited to shorter days. Hi Vince - we still only at vlog 30 but - bearing in mind I have never been on narrowboat, never mind locking, tyeing up casting off etc so I know nowt.
