Another tip. Bird houses are the fastest way to get feathers for making arrows and speed upgrades for weapons, as long as you also have a sap collector for the adhesive.

A tip about custom roofs. When you finish a custom roof, a custom floor will auto snap to fill the entire roof area. This has Three effects. First, it makes your roof not have those giant gaps at the ends. Second, it will ACTUALLY protect you from rain. Custom roofs often do not work correctly and do not protect you from rain. Lastly, if the pitch of your roof is high enough, you can cut a hole in the snapped floor and it gives you a small storage attic. Oh, and it is very cheap. It costs very few logs to make a snapped to roof custom floor.

I wan't to ask about something weird that happened to me today. I'm building a big base at the islands to the east, so I have been getting logs and what not from the cliffs just in front of the islands (with tree respawn activated). In the first 20 days or so I barely saw the cannibals, and never killed any at those times (I had little to no aggro from them, so it was easy to just block and move on). I killed some mutants at the beach a couple of times (enough to get 8 creepy armor pieces). But from day 20 to day 32 I no longer saw or heard any cannibal or mutant. Before I saw a patrol by the beach now and then, but for some reason they no longer appeared. I didn't mind at first and just keep going with my buildings, however I was a bit "worried" as days passed, thinking that maybe it was a glitch, so I decided to check the main cannibal village. I went straight to the red paint, and to my surprise, just as I break the laptop in front of the red paint, a group of cannibals just attack me right away (and yeah, I was painted already). Soon enough some more patrols/attacks/random cannibals join so I was being attacked by like 12 or more cannibals- only a couple were skinny, the rest were regular masked. At first I tried to just block to see if they would calm down (It worked before) but they just keep attacking me. Long story short, I had to run and jump off a cliff to the sea because they hate me so badly that they actually chase me all the way to the sea. So, I have so many questions: do they hate so much if you cut trees? (even if they're nowhere close) Since I'm mostly farming the same area, I'm sure there aren't that many stumps (and again, I'm sure the cannibals were never close to them) I only killed like two cannibals at the caves in this playthrough, so the cannibals had zero aggro against me (the painted ones didn't attack me at all and were in the "curious" phase). So, do the masked cannibals just attack you in default? Thanks for your videos, I'm getting lots of good ideas by checking them. Cheers!

I was experimenting with the cannibals on the past days, and it seems that either holding/swinging a weapon can detonate aggro from them even if they're neutral or almost neutral to you, but that is if you're facing a big (around 10 I guess) group. The red paint works again in my save. I'll try to avoid conflict with them a bit more and see what happens. Btw at this point, mutants spawn almost every time I go to the mainland. I wonder if those are "attacks" that just hang around waiting because I'm at the islands...

Yes they hate you cutting trees. They don't even have to watch you do it; as long as they see the stumps they get angry with you

I read about that in the wiki, but thing is, by the time of the incident I mention, I already had a house boat, a small raft, a big custom house, 1 gazebo, a dock, a big raft (I had no idea that I would need two people to use it) 3 gardens and a bunch of bird houses, so I would say I was around the 400 trees chopped by that point (with tree respawn on) and STILL, the cannibals were "cautious" with me before that incident. Granted, I didn't see them for like 10 days, but the sudden change of attitude really startled me. At this point I think it was related to the stealth, since I was using a full lizard/leaves armor and bunny shoes. I think it wasn't that the cannibals weren't already looking for me or didn't had any aggro, but rather that they didn't find me (seriosuly, I've seen patrols pass at like 10 meters from me without any obvious visual obstacle and still they didn't notice me)

I made a working rotation turret utilizing those small ponds, a raft, and a catapult. They also work on house boats and the large raft can become a beastly water based siege engine on multiplayer. Granted I'm on the PS4, the raft catapults should work on PC. The small raft rotates faster but not enough room to keep rock storage. House Boat can have multiple storage and the large raft can sport 4 catapults across the front and several rock storage. Just mind the costs and location. The circular ponds can fit small raft and house boats, but the house boats are slow to turn but makes up for it with the windows for additional players to support the main catapult.

Farket thanks, I was the proud owner of a pond turret. But then the base was ruined by a Sausage Party. But hey, killed off mutants and cannibals with ease during a siege. The Worm has a nasty habit of swarming out of nowhere, not even island bases are safe.

There is a way from stopping the trees coming down build defensive spikes all the way around should cost around 26 logs depends on where your building but 26 logs for one tree expensive but works

the fire thing works on a house boat. but food will fly off the fire if you move while cooking . as well as your backpack menu will float away if your houseboat is moving. i play in the vive so i don't see a hud. and im not sure if the menu's are the same on the flat version

Left ctrl, but the you also crouch at the same time, but you have to set it on Toggle so you don't crouch everytime you place multiple blueprints.

How didn't it work out for you? Upgrading the holders have always worked out for me. Just press R1 (on PS4) or R (on PC) after you place the blueprints.
