There actually are experimental armor similar to this for combat vehicles. Boxes/pouches of ceramic pellets absorbing the energy of kinetic attacks. A normal slab or steel armor is spent after the first strike while the ceramic pellets more or less "heals" itself as new ones pour down to replace the ones blown out by the projectile. A fascinating concept that sounds like some dark voodoo before you actually see it in action.
@chrisjohannes1792 жыл бұрын
I'd be interested in seeing these ceramic pellets mixed in with Oobleck (cornstarch and water, a non-Newtonian fluid) like Demoranch recently did in a video. I also think that the rubber in these balls is taking a lot of the initial inertia out of the bullet.
@ChefofWar332 жыл бұрын

Thats Y they stack sand bags to stop boolitz. Shoot an arrow at it - it will most likely go thru. Its a matter of dynamics. The slower arrow has more sectional density to drive thru, and the sand has time to get out of its way. The faster boolit just piles the sand up in front of it - no time for it to get pushed aside.
