@acebats10 жыл бұрын
***** Wow, stereotyping everyone as a bunch of people that won't shut up about stereotypes. Disrespectful.
@onyx118610 жыл бұрын
***** stereotypes exist because they sometimes have something true about them, and due to inequality and also due to there being a class system in that there are a few very rich and a lot poor, and typically some of the rich make up the stereotypes because it gives them warm feelings every time they receive a 100,000 dollar check in the mail or directly into their account every two weeks or so. In summation no, stereotypes will not cease to exist if nobody has reason to think about it, because in due course someone will always have reason to think about it for as long as there is inequality and large wealth gaps. They are just a way that people minimize their dissonance, even if for the most part they hurt others and skew the individuals own views on reality in a negative manor.
@onyx118610 жыл бұрын
Laughing Man no because the stereotypes are there due to the disparity between the wealthy and poor its just that and inequalities. they are there as a justification. I am not saying all rich people stereotype i am saying that people do to justify and minimize their guilt or bad feelings.
@onyx118610 жыл бұрын
Laughing Man yeah i went a little over board there. But irregardless it stems from the disparity between the poor and wealthy and goes from the wealthy down. It is a way to diminish their own guilt or justify their huge incomes while so many go hungry or barely get by. No i dont believe in all that garbage at all, they produce the stereo types, and so does anyone that is on top or believes themselves superior to others and points at slight faults in one individual and states that "its okay they are all like that" Because i have heard many "wealthy" state that all poor people "are lazy and dont deserve any of my money and help" does not mean that they all feel that way, look at bill gates who on average spends more money than a CEO of large companies make in a single year on just charitable donations and using it to set up foundations to help those in need. Again i apologize for going very over board with my statements, really i was trying for examples not stating that they were all that way, because that would be a stereotype to explain why there are stereotypes. but i seem to have made that statement regardless of what i really think on the matter.
@onyx118610 жыл бұрын
Laughing Man okay so i can see where i went a little off in my statements. But if you read the last paragraph you would see that that was not my intent that i was stating that it comes from the huge gap between the wealthy upper class and the poorer lower class and is used as a justification for that gap and it gets worse as that gap increases. IT also comes from inequality gaps as well and is used to justify the mistreatment of others and singling out of people based on different sex, skin color, or nationality.

HoplooWare so it's bullshit then?
@skunkrocker9 жыл бұрын
Behemothokun Generally, what a "trigger" is is a phrase or situation that reminds someone of their previous trauma, which can result in nervous breakdowns, shock, panic attacks, psychosis, etc. However, the term has been co-opted by many people who have not experienced such things to generally imply an uneasy feeling or dislike when they use it. A "trigger warning" is a demand many people have made for certain types of media to be placed in a way to warn them if such a thing might give them that reaction. Many people view this as a form of censorship, similar to how the PMRC was attempting to put stickers on record albums listing the album's contents, and would have very little to no regulation. In short, while people going through drama is bad we cannot censor the entire world to fit their worldview, and unfortunate as it may be for people who suffer from actual problems there is no way to add trigger warnings to everything, and they must cope with the world just being that way. And for the people who simply don't want to stomach something, they need to get over it. Now, the person being an asshole to you in this thread earlier is making fun of the whole "trigger warning" thing as again as I have stated they demand them, and often are rude about it. That doesn't really excuse him for being a completely utter little shit when you simply asked what it meant. Also, HoplooWare misled you bringing up the whole feminist thing; it's not just something feminists say. I hope now you understand a bit more about triggers, why you should know of their existence, trigger warnings, why trigger warnings are stupid, and how people on the internet can be gigantic raging shitheels for no reason no matter if they're demanding inane amounts of censorship or protesting against them. Have a good day!

As a really big fan of hip-hop, I gotta say, 50 Cent and other rappers like him are a poison to the genre. People who believe that hip-hop is trash need to listen to some Lupe Fiasco, Kendrick Lamar, The Roots, Macklemore, Immortal Technique, Dead Prez, Mos Def, Public Enemy, Rapsody, Fort Minor, Death Grips, Aesop Rock, Talib Kewell, or other conscious/art-house rappers. Hip-hop was originally established as a way for black youth to be heard when voicing their concerns about the state of the world, and once corporations realized that hip-hop was highly marketable, they took talented rappers who wanted money from a label more than they wanted to preserve their own integrity and gave them lyrics that would attract controversy and attention, and also make it look like black people were fools so that white America could hide its racism deeply woven into our infrastructure. Recently the veil of racism has been just starting to fade, and ingrained racism is just starting to be recognized, and to help recognize it, conscious rap was rediscovered and is just now starting to become popular once again. Conscious rap is usually underground because big record labels don't want to sign artists who won't sacrifice their integrity for money and in turn make it easy to vilify an entire race for the words of a few sellouts, therefore because of how independent it is, conscious rappers very rarely make it big, and therefore very few conscious rappers become famous and shed light on these issues.

+Paul Smith You must be lost with the times if you think anybody would give a shit if white people are made fun of. Infact, this has been a thing since 2014 and you have the audacity to believe that everyone would be standing for white people while not giving a shit about minorities when it's actually the other way around.
