I grew up through when they were both big, and I can't think of a single old (or new) JayZ song that I heard and liked. I was never a huge fan of 50's music either, but a few of them I at least enjoyed listening to and some were funny, every time I heard Jay's stuff it was just boring, boring flow, lackluster wordplay and rhymes didn't do it for me ever at all, but for some reason I kept hearing his name ... it's like someone was paying for him to be spoken about on the radio and TV etc. all the dang time. I only knew about 50 at first cos of his music and when I heard his tracks play on radio as they were on like every hour (the really big ones that popped off). I heard so many people talking about Jay before I'd ever even heard anyone play his tracks, and wasn't interested in hearing more when I finally did hear something of his played.
