Just as others have mentioned, it does need a dab of oil before you use it kzbin.infoUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e - put a few drops in through the convenient screw cap and you are good to go! I have fished several weeks with a couple of these, and I will be getting more in the future. I put these against my Abu Garcia Pro Max reel, and they actually perform a bit better than the Abu with some of my lighter cranks, and definitely just as good with the rest of my lures. My Abu is a bit more low profile and fits my hand better, but these are definitely not bad at all. You can almost get 3 of these for the price of my Pro Max. My only complaint is the thumb bar sits pretty high compared to my traditional profile Abu. Bring that thumb bar down a little and I’m sold on these all day long.

Larry my go to rod is a Berkley AMP 7.0 Med Heavy. You can not go wrong with it. Sturdy and light feeling. I got two of the ones that have the camo bright green and grey handle ends. I do not care for the color so I painted the handle ends black. I think they are the best and you can not go wrong with them.

You should try the Ozark Trail bait caster combo. I bought it for my daughter for when we go fishing together and I was pleasantly surprised how well it worked and came with a medium heavy rod

Saw that combo at Walmart and I didn’t realize it was a “beginner,” baitcaster. I passed it up cause the quality of the rod and reel just did not feel worth the price. Great content as always and keep up the amazing work.

Great stuff I was looking at that combo when I was getting into baitcasting but decided to pass. But I did find the googan crappie jigs on clearance at the Pell city Walmart. Love my ultralight kit, if I wanna go out and just have fun fishing I grab the ultralight kit and have a blast

I think the top bottom is so you can get used to holding your line whenever you cast it so it doesn’t back lash ( just my thoughts )

I just got an Ozark Trail baitcast combo for $35....and it's actually not bad. The rod isn't that great, but for the 💰....it ain't awful. It'll get you out fishing.....

I grabbed it for my son sucked with bird nesting but after putting 15 pound braid on it solved the problem give it a try with the braid its weird but definitely worked bro

I bought this combo and it was not worth it I back lashed so much it was the first time I had ever gotten mad when fishing just back lash after back lash I went out and got a black max reel and the rod just doesn’t feel good I am soon planning to get the Berkeley cherry wood rod your videos have helped a lot with my beginner experience with the bait caster my only problem now is reeling my rod the line never seems to go on right I don’t know if it’s to much tension or not enough

You have to take the line over the gold bar and then back under through the hole and then up the pole you went under the gold bar and back over the plastic piece the on off switch

Remove the ezcast.. bend the metal bar and toss it.. open the white side cover, remove the rubber band on the middle spindle.. now it's a perfect normal baitcaster

Don't use the line traner my son took it off and made it normal. But good for my little cuz still use is from one year ago when I got him one. A beginner will mess it up I've had to put all new line in my baitcaster reel how does it get so far gone we kid's won't say. Mad because you can't use it 🤔 that's not a good review on the IKE baitcaster Vegas help design. My cuz like his combo for the dishes

😂😂😂 I'm dying. OK a little hystory on that reel. It was a zebco or Shakespeare that pure fishing rebranded as a abu garcia since they own both companies and then slapped ikes name on it. It's the worse reviewed reel on the market lol. It's literally the worst I've ever reviewed and I've reviewed cheap Chinese 14$ reels 😂😂. Next time bro look a reel up on KZbin and in reviews lol.

@@LarryMeltonJr no bro its 100% the same design and was horrible. I have no idea why pure fishing kept it on the market. It's a great idea but needs to actually work lol. I think with better bearings, a little design work and maybe some actual breaks it could be a ok beginners reel. Think they need to take that one back to the drawing board lol.
