Gamestation used to be the name of a gaming store in the UK. It was direct competition to the previous gaming store "Game" which eventually was bought out by Gamestation and they changed their name back to Game. However atm the store (where I live) isn't doing great. They "expanded" to a tiny corner in the back of a sports shop; totally the place people would go who play games XD

It's actually the other way round. Gamestation was bought by GAME, and they nearly completely bankrupted themselves off of it. Then we lost Gamestation, which was far superior. GAME will be gone soon anyways I reckon, unless they'll just keep their stores open in Sports Direct, since it costs them less to have the both in the same store, which it seems like they'll probably do anyways. Most of GAME's high street shops are gone.

It was either one of the other, my mistake XD Still, I do miss having a store you could browse and buy games but GAME themselves always had stuff you didn't want, was leftovers or were behind in released stuff; but it's still sad they're all going the same way. They don't even have places to play the games they're advertising, just a screen with some looping footage and if you're lucky; a console and controller display that isn't actually on, just there to look at and guess I guess? Really weird.

@@lPsychoMax No, you're completely fine 🤣. I just know because I'm still triggered they took Gamestation away, then immediately went into administration off it lol. GAME's problem has always been their pricing, trade in values, and just their high street bully mentality they seem to have. I tried working there once, and their staffing is a shambles, don't know who anyone is, can't get hold of head office properly, the sort of things you're supposed to have access to when you work somewhere. As for the being behind on new releases thing you've mentioned, they're probably the only high street store ever, that usually just tends to sell all the latest stuff, but their prices never budge, preowned pricing is a shambles aswell, you've got 10 year old games still sitting on £17, but elswhere is significantly less. You should see their click and collect policy too, everywhere else is usually free, but they charge £4.99 for that, and you're only refunded in store credit, because they're desperately trying to get your business off you. They won't last much longer, they'll probably just go fully online, or continue to be a high street joke hiding away in the Sports Direct stores they're in now.
