I would add, for the ones considering a CPU upgrade, tp pair that with an apt motherboard. Good value mobos that will sustain ram and cpu overclocking are indispensable. For the Ryzen bunch, the b450 tomahawk, b450m tuf gaming (80-100 USD). B550 msi gaming plus and b550m mortar (120-140 USD) on AliExpress.

The reason you don’t notice a difference between using physical cores and not is because the in game setting does nothing, using process Lasso is the only way to actually use only physical cores right now.

It's crazy to me that this game requires a high end cpu, 32GB of ram, and at least a rtx 2060 to run optimally, barely netting 90 fps. Literally Awful optimization
@FactFrenzyy2024 Жыл бұрын
Let me try to help with my 5 cents, what i do is optimize the windows to have the lowest latency, i use the daddy maddu optimizations but there is plenty out there what can be almost the same. After all i don't use the oldest drivers for nvidia ( this is a must, older drivers have much better performance than new ones ), then use process lasso to set the priority of your game to realtime ( yes it works, forget what you learn in the past about this option cause issues you will understand in a couple seconds why. Then you will set the affinity of all the useless services windows is running in the back ground to at least 4/5 cores, they will run the windows and all useless crap and then the rest of your cores you assign to the game so game have all free cores to run. You also can set the priority of all other services running to very low in priority usage this will lower drastically the amount of run windows is using, you can even set it to idle if you want like i do, this improve even general performance while browsing etc.

ive finally found out why my pc has terrible tarkov fps its the ram recently was trying to find out why and looked up low tarkov fps it came up with the threads where people are saying i have really expensive cpu and gpu but low tarkov fps so thought ow its a lost cause then i started to notice people talking about the x3d with its big cache and then finally noticed through the threads that nobody was talking about ram then after thinking that tried finding videos about tarkov and ram found your video and it conforms my suspicions great video btw would be interesting to see if a old xeon with large cache could play tarkov well. sorry for grammar
@vinylSummer Жыл бұрын
I don't really agree with your "if your GPU has less than 3gb of VRAM - toss it into trash" statement. Some time ago I got some computer components basically for free, xeon x3440, not a great lga1156 ddr3 mobo with 8gb of ram and a GTX 570 1.2 GB. Not RX 570 4GB. I bought a cheap 240gb ssd, psu that's probably not going to blow up, second hand case for $7 that looked good enough and started building a PC to give it to my friend for him to try out some gaming. All parts, fortunately, were functioning, so I slapped a good 160 mhz base clock on the cpu and got to benchmarking tarkov. 1080p native resolution, all the settings set to lowest, MIP streaming wasn't working at the time so it was off. The card was getting 35-45 fps, but it felt better with 30 fps locked with vsync. There were some huge stutters and the overall system responsiveness was crappy, so I slapped another 8gb of ram into the system and that was a night and day difference. Overall system experience became good enough and all the major stutters were gone. This shitty game still sometimes stutters on my 12600k@5.2, 32gb 3600mbps and 6700xt so I can't complain too much, I guess. Unfortunately, the GTX 570 died on my hands so I replaced it with 1060 6gb that was chilling in my server because it was almost the date that I was going to give my friend the present, had to make the decision fast. FPS roughly doubled, but stutters were kinda the same with 6GB VRAM card and 1.2GB card. In conclusion, you can get into gaming these days with as low as $100 with peripherals and a monitor included, it won't be a perfect experience, but if someone is deciding between not playing with his friends at all or gaming at 1080p low with 30fps, the latter option is certainly much better

I haven't found anyone with the same issue as bad as me, idk if you have any insight. When I use any pc monitoring program while playing tarkov, it says my gpu usage is at literally 0-1% and my cpu usage is at around 60-70%. I'm really not sure what is causing this as my gpu usage goes up in other games I play, but it stays at 0-1% while running tarkov. I've went through every settings vid I can find and nothing changes it. For example I can put the texture/shadow quality to both high and low and it makes no difference to the gpu usage. I've used different pc monitoring software as well as just task manager and they all say the same thing so I don't think it's a software bug, it's all just very strange to me. I don't know if this is affecting my potential fps or if it's just some kind of bug where it isn't correctly showing the gpu usage. Run an offline raid and get approximately 4x the FPS. Add BOTS and PMCs, drop by 4x. The way the game code handles bots and other players is like some web developer wrote it and not an actual engineer. In 99.99% of cases, your rigs aren't at fault. It's the lazy fucking devs that don't know what they are doing. Just think of it this way. How can a game that looks worse, uses less assets and has fewer things going on at a given moment on the screen than something like Call of Duty MW II or Battlefield 2042 run a couple times worse than those games. Also, the FPS drops when you shoot. Something is wrong with the way they wrote the game to handle what AI does and how physics are calculated.

Not in 1440p. I'm forced to run FSR 1.0 which is kinda dogshit. And any frame drops will outside of the frequency range will cause hitching, it's supposed to smooth it out with double framing but idk doesn't seem to work well for me

also a problem with variable refresh rate is that inverse ghosting gets increasingly worse at lower refresh rates and I have to turn my overdrive setting down if I want to use Freesync. So I just prefer to run with it off at 170hz with overdrive on. The M27Q has a BFI mode that removes all normal ghosting and has near instantaneous response time. However it has a bit of inverse ghosting and doesn't work with freesync whatsoever. Also reduces brightness and contrast. I usually turn off freesync and leave BFI on. Picture quality is meh, but I get TN like refresh times and good viewing angles and saturation. Very good in competitive shooters.
