50+ Putter Face Off | Finding the Best Disc Golf Putter Part 1

I have done this exact drill at 30 feet with 2 baskets throwing every putter I owned at the time 240 discs, with 90 different molds. My winners were- Wizard- SSS, Wizard oganic, several times, Banger GT several times, Vibram Summit, Dagger (medium), Dagger -Hard, Pure -medium, TC Shield, Aviar (R-Pro) once. DareDevil Owl was a runner up several times. At longer distances My Rhyno, Spike, Sinus and warden were the clear winners . For over 50 ft Anny shots, Meteor, and Ions 50 ft spyke Hyzer Gator, Pig. For 150 ft shots BUZZZ beat the rest of the mids. To be fair in my putter collection I have more wizards than any other mold but I also have lots of aviars, and Bangers. I have done the drill with 50 putters and no duplicates and the wizard still won. I really enjoyed the video.

6:40 Yea! Polecat crew! I bag polecats, in 3 plastics, in 4 stages of wear each. After you get past the learning curve, you pretty much ACE by default.

The 86 Softie from Wham-O. I used it as a putter and approach. It flies like a frisbee - no fade whatsoever. Steady Ed was shagging discs many years ago between rounds of a tournament for a putting challenge. He had an awesome gleam in his eyes when he handed me back my disc! I won the challenge my 2nd time up.

My fave is a 2016 mcpro aviar for putting and everything inside 150 feet, as well as a hyzerbomb tank for any forehand or weird get out of trouble shots (love the new DO tour series). Good video dude

I absolutely enjoyed this video. The first putter I fell in love with was a 175g Classic Aviar. I was at a pro shop and checked out a bunch of putters, and I picked it up and it felt so good, even though it was just DX plastic. I bought it immediately and Aviars are my primary putter now, and I'm not surprised you did so well with an Aviar, even the slightly newer mold in G-Star plastic. Also not surprised with the Rhyno and the 2 MVP discs. BTW my first and only "ace" disc is a Banger GT. At a mini disc golf course with 110', through some obstacles, but I'll take it. It hangs on my wall today. Anyhow, looking forward to your next video!

Have the Wizard 💎, Wizard eraser SSS, wizard Hemp, Voodoo SSS, Chief OS 💎, Magic 💎 and Magic SSS. Love them all for different reasons. Also throw the Spear💎 and Mystic 💎 and they are great discs. May be a little bias being from STL but love throwing Gateway.

I think #1, the best putter will have excellent grip. #2 flight rating 2 4 0 0 for a true stable to under stable flight. #3 lower profile for distance and slicing through the wind. Unfortunately this putter doesn't exist yet, but they're getting there. AGL Ponderosa 2 4 0 0 in hemp plastic is close, but a tall putter. Swan is close, but more grip needed in the firm, they're getting better. Discmainia soft logic has decent grip, low profile, but too over stable, like just about every other putter made. Innova will be releasing their Xero putter soon, 2 4 0 0, lower profile, looks very promising. The only problem is, they don't take grip seriously. I called them today to beg for grip in this one. Their R Pro pig feels the best to me for grip, that they offer at least, xt not so much, compared to gateway etc. Hope they give us the option for grip and not just slick dx.

Would be cool to redo this experiment with like 10 or more rounds instead of 3, and assigning point values to how far each disc makes it in the bracket each round, and adding it all up at the end. Would be a long process and very statistics-heavy, but would iron out any flukes and paint a more realistic picture of reliability. Also, you'd be able to rank every putter being used, not just the best one!

Which is why I carry Atoms and Envys. Throwers and putters. Atom is dead straight tons of glide. Envy is your P2 without you being able to eat cereal out of it.

I did something similar with 7 different putters the atom, ion, anode, pilot, nomad, voodoo, and warden. The atom which I putt with hardly ever hit the most putts but it had the highest average. One day the ion would go 38 of 45 the next time 26 of 45. The nomad had the 2nd highest average and I feel I miss better with the atom then the others

I own 30 mvp, axiom, streamline putters if you count the spin, glitch, entropy which only the entropy is in my bag and which I'd never putt with; and not one is in Proton plastic 19 in Electron, 3 in Electron soft, 1 Electron firm, 1 in plasma, 1 in prism plasma, 2 in eclipse 2.0, 1 neutron, 1 in neutron soft, and whatever the Glitch is, I think it's neutron soft as well.

I'm partial to the XT Nova myself, didn't see one in there (could've just missed it) but it flies straighter than any disc i've thrown. Coming from being an ultimate player, I'm probably biased towards that feature haha

By all means, have fun with your testing, but please, stop with the "best" part of it. They are just putters, and a good player could learn to use any of them with great results. And a bad player will still be bad with an infinite amount of putter choices.

In the end you will only find “the best” putter for YOU. Most makes out of 100 30’ putts with each putter would be the most important stat out of the 3 distances in your video. You could actually stop there. Learn to throw that 30’ winning putter from 50’ and 100’. If you wanted to figure out the best putter of all of them from 50’ then you should start the hole process over again from 50’. Chances are it will not be the same putter that had the most makes from 30’. If it is then you found you are very lucky that it’s the same putter. If it’s a different putter than your fav from 30’ then bag that winning 50’ putter for your longer putts. If you still wanted to find the best putter from 100’ for you then go through the entire original stack again, but use proximity to the hole as you deciding factor not makes.

Right now it's an X Soft Ringer, not because it's better at putting, but because it sticks to the ground when I miss and almost never rolls away. If I were in a putting competition where those things didn't matter, I might go with my 300 M4's- so my most accurate "putter" at various distances isn't a putter at all.

Your experiment is totally unscientific because your so tired for most of it, and one disc you may throw better than the next disc thrown after it. Plus, the wind may effect one disc more than others because it was blowing harder at the exact second you threw that particular disc. Totally subjective on this particular day!
