I'm surprised that neither Fally Ipupa nor Fere Gola are on that list. What about the Salif Keitas, Koffi Olomide and co. Youssou N'dour is known mainly in the Senegal. The ranking is biased in that it focuses mainly on English-speaking Africa. Extensive research of the type alluded to above takes time to collect and analyse data. The information is a useful start. It needs to be updated at least every other year. Besides Akon, musicians of African origin based outside the continent have not been mentioned in your presentation.
