It is "Nəˈvædə," with a short "a" as in apple, NOT Ne-VAH-duh. Nevadans hate that! Oregon is also mispronounced. Pretty sure the singers are from Minnesota. :) Otherwise, this is useful.

I infer that English is their second language, and they may very well pronounce the state differently, but the local pronunciation is definitely Nev-ADD-ah. There is absolutely NO argument by locals, and it each local area that gets to make that decision! (For example: Oregon, New Orleans and Missouri are other places where the locals get to choose!!)
