We are mighty! we are free! We're the class of '73! What a great year to be a graduate. The war was over and we guys could finally breath easy and what great stoves those were.

Great little stove I love the 502 best single burner coleman ever made.

I love my 502. Mine was made in June of 1966, so it is stamped 6...66, but it is still a good stove

Nice stove. Bullet proof. Ultra reliable. Easy to work on. Fuel efficient. Too heavy for most modern hikers and backpackers and not the most powerful burner, but what a simmer it has. When you light any Coleman liquid fueled stove, it's important to have your lighter lit and positioned when you open the valve if you want a clean, quick start. You can flood the generator is seconds if you don't light it right away. That's what happened here. Not the end of the world, these are pretty forgiving. It just takes longer to be ready. Then open the valve all the way to shut off the instant lighing air induction. It consumes a lot of air, and pressure, if you leave it at 1/4 turn and won't burn as hot. You can see the flame pulse and lift off the burner if you forget. It will also do that when it's about empty of fuel as well. It should be nice and steady. Some folks go through these weird rituals like waiting until you "hear it spit" and other nonsense. Follow the instructions exactly. If it doesn't fire up cleanly, there is something wrong with it or the fuel is bad.

Nice wish I had one of the pots for my Coleman duel fuel single burner stove I bought back in 2001 for guard duty with the MPs. Have the two burner folding stove too. White gas is good for a lot longer than gasoline and burns cleaner in the unit. Have fun stay safe.

Nice to see how it works. I have a "newer" version of this stove, the newer ones are not as heavy duty. This one seems to have a more robust flame than mine as well as a more robust pot stand.

Found one of these awhile back in a abandoned crack house/meth den... Also in Texas 😂😂 Haven't tried to fire it up yet, but it looks like it's new.

Use a drop of oil on the pump leather. There is a hole for lubrication.
