50 Years || The love story of Winston & Rose - 50th Wedding Anniversary Legacy Film by KEJ

I was once asked "If you could film any wedding, past or present, real or fictional, whose would it be?" Without hesitation, I said, "My parents. If I could go back in time, I would film their wedding." In many respects, this project fulfills that dream for me.
Knowing it would be difficult for me to lead this interview, my dear husband Kaleb led this conversation with my parents, Winston & Rose. They shared the very beginnings of their love story. In my head, this film was going to be one thing - perhaps "the secret to a long, healthy, successful marriage" but as they recounted their story, I knew it had to be something else. It needed to be about them. Solely about them.
I hope you enjoy this deeply personal project. All vintage photos and 8mm footage is footage from my father. Much of it had been locked away for over 40 years.

This is only the 4th time I've watched this film (I say "only" because I know I'll watch it probably just as much as I've watched our own film from KEJ) and still cried of course but this is truly the most beautiful story I've ever watched. Every good story the world has ever seen or read about pulls at your heart strings one way or another; I think somehow you see yourself in it or you want to be the characters you are experiencing their story with. There are SO many moments where personally I connect to your parent's story and see my own story through their own and to still connect across cultures and decades is so beautiful. As always, beautiful job you guys, it's perfect.
