500 años después (2021)

Shot over the course of a year, this short city symphony is an evocation of present day Mexico City five hundred years after the invasion of the Spanish and the fall of the Mexica city of Tenochtitlán.
"Mexico City, as seen through Vargas's lens, is a city in transformation. It might be shaped by a violent history of conquest and subjugation, but the city lives on and continues to be transformed by the people who call it home."
