The car has aged incredibly well for a car designed and released in the late 80s. In many ways the car actually even looks kind of futurists... TODAY. The rear end and tail lights almost look like a variation on LED strip lights found on everything today. When modded with a tasteful widebody kit it really pushes the car into absolute visual perfection.

My first car was a 300ZX TT, it's never left my sight and I'll never sell it. Patrick (owner of this Z) was right, it's not difficult to work on but it just takes time. From my experience, it's this time that you put working on the car that makes you love the Z even more. Beautiful car Patrick.

the vr4 was AWD with all wheel steering and came with 340hp from the factory. if you got the 3000gt vr4 spyder, it had doors like the lambo with a fold up hardtop that went into the trunk. this car is only rwd, with 300hp and normal steering. vr4 any day over this.
@DOHC2L
@DOHC2L 7 жыл бұрын
"...if you got the 3000gt vr4 spyder, it had doors like the lambo with a fold up hardtop that went into the trunk." No, the 3000GT 'Spyder' was never produced as a VR4. 'Spyders' were rated ~290 to 305hp NA. The hard top folded in half (inward) and stored beneath the trunk lid which raised and lowered automatically - ala the Mercedes style. And it did not have 'Lambo' style doors!!! The 3000GT Spyder sticker price = $79,999. Mitsubishi ruled out a VR4 option because the sticker price would have been over $100K and they didn't want to compete with Ferrari.

You are mistaken, the VR4 Spyder did indeed exist and remains a fairly affordable, rare car from the 90s. Somewhere around 900 were imported between 95-96. The conversion to convertible took place in the US but was delivered to the Mitz dealership as a VR4 Spyder. Correct on the lack of Lambo doors. My car: 94 RX7 Twin Turbo.

lol don't be jelly. A 427 Corvette has 505hp to the crank, this is somewhere between 495 and 505 to the crank on 15psi, all he has to do is turn that little knob next to the clock a tad to the right and he's at 600 crank,. What he's saying is he has absolutely no use for it because 400 wheel is absolutely perfect for spirited street driving and canyon carving. You don't always need a sledgehammer, sometimes you need a scalpel.

Hey man dont knock on the 2+2's! Its actually the better chassis as it doesn't get the twitchiness the 2 seaters get when theyre low on gas. In fact, Stillen used the 2+2 for their IMSA car as the long wheel base made a much stabler ride

@@themastermaster8514 2+2 does not handle "better". Not sure where this internet myth comes from. Also the IMSA car wasn't a 2+2 either, custom space frame with a wheelbase close to it, but the fuel tank is relocated in front of the rear wheels like the 2 seater, not behind like the 2+2.

Very well done Z32, nice and clean. To me the Z32 300ZX, Starion, GTO/3000GT and SW20 MR2 are some of the most forgotten JDM cars. Where I stay, you barely see any of these gems. Magazines very rarely touch these cars unfortunately. As usual, nice vid. Before I bought my SW22, I was looking for a TT 300ZX, but to no avail. A TT 300Z or a 5-speed SC300 is what I might end up with later on.

@patrickstankiewicz1345
@patrickstankiewicz1345 7 жыл бұрын
Replacing the Alternator does NOT require an engine pull...its a PITA to do because it's at the bottom, but its not that bad, and it didn't take me very long to do. The only stuff that really requires an engine pull is an issue with the turbos, exhaust manifolds, egr, or knock sensor. All 4 of those would be easiest done with the motor out. Everything else is very doable with the engine in. Oh an the engine harness..if you decide to replace that you should yank it as well lol

They are not as hard to work on as everyone makes them out to be. That is mostly crap talk that was started by old school techs. They were used to working on big American cars you could sit inside the engine bay and still have room to work. As a full time master, and Z32 owner, the only thing that makes them hard to work on IMO is that because of the age, some things (hoses, connectors, and what not) are on the brittle side. Most modern cars these days are much more annoying to repair.

I do find it rather interesting when people say the newer Z isn't as good cause it lacks turbos. I'm pretty certain the z32 is the only Z that ever had turbos so if anything its the odd one. Up till the z31 they were always just a NA straight six then the z31 was an NA v6. If the 370 had turbos and 400+ hp I think it might steal sales from the GTR.... I like this guys 300zx though very clean and kept simple, something I'd personally own myself.

+Z33 Garage honestly once you delete tons of the useless things such as the collant lines under the plenum, egr, bla bla bla, it's really not that bad. I could pull out my plenum in like 30-45 minutes now lol.

+Tatenda Jinya (EthosVeritas) Thanks! Nope, this one has nothing to do with Ulrich. He's currently bringing his up to driving standards, just had his clutch done.

You're wrong with two plus two looks just as good as the two seater. In fact, seeing them side-by-side it is somewhat difficult to tell the difference, although the two plus two seems to flow even better than the two-seater. Fun fact, the headlights of this 300ZX are the ones that Lamborghini used for the Diablo.

I love those '90s Japanese sportscars! Used to drive them a lot...in Gran Turismo...on a PS1...years ago. ;-P Just wondering, Marcus Vandenberg...your last name sounds like your roots came from the Netherlands (sounds Dutch). ^-^

amd how many finished ones have you seen in your area? maybe 3-5 . Not mention 85% that you will see are not twin turbo or they are automatic. it is a very rare car. i live in atlanta and have seen maybe 5 over the last 2 years on the road. i know people are hording them in garages somewhere.
