Shooting the S&W Magnum 500 and the Desert Eagle in 50AE at the range. I also let someone shoot the 500 Magnum for their first time. Each one has their own challenges, but both are super fun to shoot.

Thanks for the tag along trip to the range. Those are beast of a firearm. After my first purchase of rounds I began reloading for my SW500 and works great. Fired some 500 grain. Such power. Great shooting; thanx.

so bad ass! as impractical as the desert eagle is....I still would love to own one. my big bore handgun dream is a S&W460xvr...just because it shoots 3 calibers.

great video. i shoot both guns often and i am not a fan of the DE anymore. I love the 500 mag. I have a few videos of me shooting both guns, and even did one dual wield. love your videos, keep up the good work.

Not really related, but the 500S&W is now out(has been) in a lever action carbine, made by Bighrn Arms Co. In this format you really get the benifits of the 500., and it makes for a FAN-TAS-TIC woods gun! Nice video Destiny, all the best, MIKE.

Good shooting with that .500 double action... I love those Desert Eagles... I've only shot one in .44 mag and it was ridiculous... Guns and calibers like that would start me reloading, for more fun...
@bolivardigriz88477 жыл бұрын
The added mass of those heavy slugs will give you more recoil absorbing mass in your hand to tame the first few shots' kick. This effect is noticeable even with a 9mm shooting hot 147 grain loads. One can easily notice the change in felt recoil as the slugs' mass is depleted from the magazine.

Nice shooting. I have these guns also, and shooting them is a ball. My 500 is exactly like yours but doesn't have the bear markings, which I do admire. I note your DE frequently ejects cases straight back at your head, just like mine does. Guess it's a design feature, and is why you should ALWAYS wear eye protection!

I have both a .50 AE DE (Titanium Gold) and a S&W 500 (8 3/8" barrel). When shooting them side by side, the DE feels like a pea-shooter compared to the 500 (especially emptying a DE magazine vs. emptying a full cylinder on the 500). At least I left that day with an awesome picture of the DE fire ring.

Its not just the grain of the .500 S&W that makes it more potent, it's...everything about it. .50 AE is a novelty, .500 S&W is purpose driven. Oh...and I love that you educated the Glock lad before letting him shoot it. Well done!

Hey Des I Applaud you! At my training to become an NRA pistol instructor the only two people that shot my .500 long barrel were the instructor and a young lady like you! All the other 'alpha' guys (ex-military, LEO's) made excuses!!! You should try the compensated long barrel .500, the extra steel really helps with that savage recoil.
@davejustice81256 жыл бұрын
P.S. try my 'Magnum Grip' - right arm strait out encircle that wrist with your left with that thumb pressing down on the right index finger bone in the palm. use the left hand to stretch out your right arm, this will provide a stable triangle with your arms and torso for maximum control of that beast! Hope this helps a bit. :)

Know what would be cool? A carbine kit for the Desert Eagle .50AE. An extended barrel, a clip on stock and a fore grip attached to the rail. Also a tactical sling loop. Great griz and moose defense for those hikes in the Montana forests.

Because you enjoy shooting double action with the Smith. I was wondering if you have had any trigger work done to your revolver? I haven't shot a 500 to see how smooth the trigger is but I've owned a 686 Smith and found that a good trigger job really improved the smoothness of the pull.

Mine is TiN gold. I love it!! I have to use a gage to check each shell because I've had problems with Underwood not allowing the slide to return to battery. So now I check each and every shell in a box to make sure I'll have not problems. Yep, a .50AE Desert Eagle is for girls! Ear plugs and muffs desirable.
