@@TheHarrie93 got to be the slk stock, more power and lower centre of gravity but it depends. Mishas up was like 150hp/tonne and had a bunch of handling mods so definetly faster than this lemon but thats not really a fair comparison. Stock vw up mpi is super gutless and understeery so even this lemon would probably beat it, for example I have been overtaken by new volvo trucks (without trailers) even when i was shifting at 3k rpm.

when you know the track, you can take a real shitbox and make it a TON of fun! i had an 85 vw cabriolet with a mk2 gti motor, kw suspension, sticky falken tires, i could run under 8 and a half minutes (over 20 years ago)(rarely had to hit the brakes, it just TURNED) and loved every second! with over 100 laps in that car, and over 10,000 laps in sim, i really wish i could go back with my knowledge and give it another go to see how i do

I've owned 3 of them still currently own one things to look out for would be no rust, sagging roof line, make sure the roof folds and works well. Thankfully I've never encountered any of these issues as I have purchased low milage examples. They are really under rated and alot of fun I personally think the styling of this generation is much nicer than the ones that came after it. If you find a well cared for example you will love it :)
@villagernumber92332 жыл бұрын
Ahh thanks for the advice I’ll definitely remember these things when going to see one. Yeah this generation looks good, also like the R171 variants. The front nose cone makes it look like a tiny SLR. I saw a nice looking 2010 SLK 300 so a V6!! It had only done around 50k miles and was going for I think £11,000. Was really tempted to test drive it but currently out of work so it doesn’t really make sense to get a new car right now. Was thinking of selling my current car and everything. The only thing is not sure if I’d ever have the roof down. But tbh they look good with the roof up.
