They were extremely popular, and suddenly they just disappeared. I always preferred the heavier chassis personally- but the Dominant III and Super Goldliner IV were extremely stylish - moreso than the late Plaxton equivalents- even if the Domi III was somewhat restrictive for passenger viewing.

They were a great workhorse, if a little ponderous on an incline; used to see them everywhere, then suddenly they were gone.

Would love to spend a few hours recording this coach properly... 🎙️🎧 Proper ASMR for me- spent my childhood riding to and from school on Sanders' old Bedfords and the Dominant II was always my favourite body style. 😎

I've driven Bedford YRQ plaxton and YNT plaxton thay were superb coaches.

They were once everywhere, popular workhorses, but then seemed to disappear almost overnight. These lightweight vehicles were the 'do anything' backbone of many operators' fleets - ousted by the new universal machine, the Volvo B10M

You’re right, they lost speed at any hint of a gradient. We forget how powerful modern vehicles have become in a relatively short time.
