I live in Europe and have decent amounts of property in the Philippines so I spend a lot of time in Asia and I can honestly say I was shocked at how nice Malaysia is, it was a location I was barely even thinking of and only went there to collect some goods but I will concur it is very very nice. The transport network in KL is brilliant, the food including "street food" is some of the nicest I have ever eaten. I am not sure what the retirement requirements are in Malaysia but I would certainly look at it as a via place to live.. Regards

Just to let everyone know there is a dreadful TOURIST TAX on foreigners . Problem is, they are being greedy as the tax is DAILY and without a maximum limit like other nations. 10 Malaysian ringgits EVERY DAY so if you stay for a month that is very costly for us on a budget. Now we only take about one week vacation maximum there now as compared to a month before. This is added by the hotel on arrival.

Where to rent in Penang. Planning on being there for 3 months or more.
@stevenlee69316 жыл бұрын
(Malaysia is a muslim majority nation)? ( only in most west Malaysia or peninsula) East Malaysia consists of Sarawak and Sabah states are not Muslim majority states. There are some states in Peninsula Malaysia for eg Penang, where Muslim is not in majority. So please study Malaysia history and regional makeup before you parrot the often misqouted " Malaysia is a Muslim nation" not true. Malaysia constitution is secular, meaning it is not an Islamic nation. The laws of the land are not religious based as per Saudi Arabia or middle Eastern nations.

You can only put up with migrant workers (accommodation) which is a like a dorm with very little amenities on top a shop house in a very bad neighborhood for USD 100 in Malaysia.
@anantha928 жыл бұрын
It's the same, earning 2000 RM in Malaysia is the same as earning 2000 dollars, if you include cost of living, electronics and cars are the only real difference, food and rental is the same.
