Hello Janette you are a VERY special person. Wondering what to vlog...and look what you've come up with🎉🎉 Unsurpassed i would say, to show the world this creme de la creme of Christmas markets. I saw such unusual items and food, my pockets would have been empty. The roasted chestnuts are a must for me and probably some hog roast. Those sweets too looked tempting. SUPER SUPER BILLERICAY for staging this and SUPER SUPER WONDEFUL JANETTE ( and RICHARD) for their unselfish sharing🎄💝🎄💝

@@TheEnthusiasticGardener despite being married to the Grinch of Christmas, I finished putting up my tree with all my gorgeous baubles. Outside I have some garlands with lights and a couple of dwarf trees lit up. It looks lovely. I have warned the Grinch that next year I will be adding more outdoor decorations......that's 12 months advanced warning 🤣🤣🤣. I am looking forward to seeing my grandsons this weekend. The 2 1/2 year old is going to love the decorations.

Aww you have to do it for the children dont you? I just do t think men are into it at all, I don’t think Richard would be bothered if we didn’t have anything up at all either. I’m still trying to get some enthusiasm together to do mine 🤣 I’m not sure I can face the village again but I bet I will. I have 1 more whole week of work (start new job Monday 😊) and then 3 weeks off so I’ll probably do the decorating then 🥰

@@TheEnthusiasticGardener Here in Spain it is tradition to decorate the house between the 6th and 8th December, so I am spot on this year. My Grinch thinks spending time putting things up only to take them down one month later doesn't make sense. But it falls on deaf ears. Mum always made the effort to decorate the house and I will continue to do so. Last night I sat in the armchair with only the Christmas tree lights on and the log fire burning....it was so beautiful and calming, I was in my element. So get cracking on your Christmas village Janette....you even have some dwarf trees in the garden to put lights on! Did you see Laura's Garden Answer Christmas lights tour......so gorgeous!

Yes, I think with me I’m dragging out the same old things each year, but trying to make it look different 🤣 and of course it’s not going to! I need to get some new bits. Oh my goodness Laura’s lights are unbelievable but she is lucky to have a husband that is enthusiastic about it all too. Not our Grinches 🤣🤣 Sitting by the fireside, oh that sounds wonderful 🌲🔥

Oh, Janette, that just made my day! I love seeing bits of “very old England” so thank you for focusing on those old buildings. I absolutely adore bagpipes; I get choked up every time I hear them - is that silly? We have lots of outdoor fall festivals (or fairs) but only one outside Christmas fair near me that I know of which I attended with my sister this past weekend. It was quite fun but tiny compared your Billericay fair or fayre as I saw on a sign. How quaint! That sandwich looked yummy as did the fudge and other goodies. My best to Richard for being a good sport; I know events like that are not a guy’s favorite thing to do. 🎄 P.S. I love your coat! You have such great fashion sense.

Hi Janette, thanks so much for taking us to the Billericay Christmas Market. The beautiful old town and market look wonderful and a visit there each year such a lovely Christmas tradition. We don't have anything like that near us. It does look very cold but you wouldn't have any flies buzzing around all that lovely food. Hi Janette. I just love Christmas and thank you for taking us with you. The Christmas Market looks so fun and Billericay looks so charming. I love historical architecture. I went to something similar this past weekend in Stockbridge MA. They closed their Main Street and they had antique cars, horse drawn carriage rides, caroling. Much smaller scale than Billericay. They do have something in common- The Red Lion. Only here it is called the Red Lion Inn. Well thanks again for sharing- that was very fun and hope you have a Happy Christmas!

@@TheEnthusiasticGardener I meant to ask you before, or if you can make a video about what’s , Cotswolds , and village’s . Or what’s the difference 😊. An other thing I don’t understand what is an allotment. Maybe is just me who doesn’t know , but it be nice to learn all that 😊
@TheEnthusiasticGardener
@TheEnthusiasticGardener 2 жыл бұрын
Aha! Well the Cotswolds is actually the name of an area about 800 square miles in size and it covers 5 different counties. I have never been but it’s about 120 miles from where I live and it has beautiful villages inside it. I must go. And an allotment is a big area of land which is divided up into squares or rectangles and people can rent each square or rectangle and grow vegetables or flowers, whatever they want. And people put up little sheds on their little allotment. They are very sought after and it’s very hard to get one, there’s usually a waiting list. It’s funny you asking because we just assume everyone knows these things and that they must have them in every country but maybe it’s a British thing 😊

@The Enthusiastic Gardener 😀 we lived at 117 Pretoria Road. I went to Mawney Road infant school and learned to swim in the baths opposite. Then Heathpark Girls school. I think that's where the roads are that you're speaking about. I remember palm Road, cherry Street, Marks Road. Marney Road Park and the allotments behind us and the Iterial Road. Is the brewery still there? You could smell the hops every morning when we walked to school instead of taking the 252 bus 🤣. Sorry I do get excited. I'm 65 now so it's been a looooooong time. I have a soft spot for Romford.

Oh my goodness Kim what memories we share! I went to Mawney Road swimming pool with my junior school. I went to Heath Park School too! I joined at 11 in 1973, it had just turned comprehensive and joined up with Romford County High round the corner in Brentwood Road, so I was at Heath Park for the 1st and 2nd years and they changed the name to Frances Bardsley! I know all the roads you mention, and spent all weekends with my friends walking around Romford market and do you remember the fountain in the outside shopping area, and Stones which then changed into Debenhams? You are just 5 years older than me so we must have been both there at the same time. Romford Brewery closed in 1993, I absolutely hated the smell of those hops!!! The market which used to be enormous doesn’t have nearly so many stalls these days. Oh what a coincidence Kim! 🥰🥰🥰

Magdalene Church goes way back to 15th century but its a lot older, the population of Billericay had to attend Great Burstead Church for 800 or more years which is over mile away, the Chequres was where Christopher Martin Mayflower Govenor attended Latin or there abouts, the Blue Boar was once a supermarket before that was home to Major Spitty who built Lakemeadows, in WW1 a Zeppelin L32 just missed the town it was 650" long, in WW2 a parachute mine almost hit the Blue Boar site, shot down by a brave gunner, saved the high st
