I am a Bcom Grad and I have been a SQL Developer for last 10 years. I too had a similar journey like him but my total years of experience is more than 17 years. In IT industry continuous self learning, self motivation and outperforming other Tech Grad colleagues in the interview and on the job is the only way to grow up the career and be successful from BCOM grad and get paid as IT Grad. Companies with Big Mnc tag will not consider but early age startup , mid level startup will definitely higher you but you need to prove them that you have sufficient knowledge and in the 10 year time you have accumulated some good non tech skills like :- price negotiation, customer engagement, team building, communication, client handling etc. which will be very beneficial for any kind of startup as all startup doesn’t have a sales & Business analysis team mostly the team lead or managers sit for bidding a project so with your cloud knowledge you will be the perfect candidate as a Digital transformation leader etc.
