Cool car , the 50s hemi was the engine to unseat the ford flathead at the drag strip
@bennettfriesen336 жыл бұрын
The Hemi and the flat head both hold their places though. I don't think you can really say one is hands down better than the other because they're both so unique.

Oldsmobile rockets were super popular in that era too. Cadillac, nailheads, y blocks etc. Between the flathead and the small block chevy becoming the go to motor for most guys.

Really appreciate these builds. Done at home in a garage, you can tell this dude lives and breathes the 50s drag race/street race era. Him and his wife rocking that Hot Rod Pin Up/Rocker Billy style, the class and magnitude of that car was top knotch. I feel a full build break down is needed with this one, and you know he is serious when he pulls out the gears for the diff out of the boot of the car, thats epic!

Ooooh damn. I've been drooling over this car for a few months now, never expected it to show up here!! Like a Weesner drawing come to life, it checks all the boxes...hemi, 6-pack, bias ply wide whites, full caps, QC, chopped '27 body...even has chromed garnish moldings. Sweet. Love how the owner is happy to go full geek with the stats and details. Got awfully close to the ramp during that donut, glad he didn't stuff it into the wall. What a handful!

That's a very cool traditional hot rod. Very nicely done. I own original Ts myself but appreciate a nice build. I'm working on a TROG Model T roadster that will be powered by the original motor hopped up as much as possible. Only thing I would have changed was have the chop be a few inches less for better driving comfort, but that's just my preference ad I like high boy coupes. Cool hotrod man! I'd hang out with this guy any day, great car guy who knows his stuff.

Very nice car! Excellent workmanship! I had a '55 331 in a '30 A coupe years ago. Six Stromberg 97's like yours, and that car ran really well. You want to be very careful using solid copper tubing, especially for fuel lines. The soft copper will eventually work harden at the fittings from engine vibrations, and that can allow it to fracture. Not a good thing with gasoline and a hot engine! Many believe that Henry Ford used copper fuel lines in his cars, but that's incorrect. The tubing was actually steel with copper plating to prevent corrosion. If you like the copper look, most early Ford parts suppliers have the correct copper plated steel tubing. That is what I would use, and recommend. The last thing you need if for that beautiful couple to go up in flames. A quality fire extinguisher would also be wise to have in the car!
