It's good, enough to be with the big boys. High 10s with ~125 mph trap speed. Still, my problem with the Supra was that it kind of dies on the top end, the turbo is too small. Pure700/Pure800 fixes that, but then you need port injection, as the fuel system can't give enough fuel for the larger turbo. S58 is the way if you really want big power. I whish a manual version with S58 come some day.

There was a entire segment done on the Supras handling on those Apex guys channels. I would suggest that anyone considering increasing horsepower might want to take a look at first. These dudes are tied into the German Nurburgring crowd, and tuned the Supras suspension for the ring. The reason i say this is any increase in horsepower is only going to amplify this problem. It goes the same for a C7 series Corvette and nobody is talking about what happens when you modify a car that comes from the factory that has suspension problems that could be dangerous at high speed? The answer is it becomes more dangerous with more horsepower. You can tune these cars to Porsche level performance, but it takes a lot more than just horsepower. If your drag racing ONLY then it might be a good investment, but 600 ft lbs of torque is a whole lot on the street to not be in complete control for ANY sports car.
@revmatchtv2 жыл бұрын
I’m very familiar with the Apex guys and the handling of this car which I’ve had on track many times. Do you have a Supra or C7?
@thiosemicarbizidebenzoylal29212 жыл бұрын
@@revmatchtv Nah, i was heavily into the sports car game in Switzerland where i lived for almost two decades, and before that had a 69 Camaro SS. My point being was in reference to what you WANT as a sports car that is well rounded for both street and track. I am heavily interested in buying that C8 to go to V.I.R because i am in this area. Limit handling is pretty serious when driving high horsepower cars. I know you track also, and very interested what your take on handling is with more power added.
@shaneducholke3642 жыл бұрын
This would only apply to about 5% of owners that would spend any time on a track and probably only 10% of those owners would be on a track with corners anything close to the ring and less than half of those people have the skills to drive a car that close to the edge. Basically 1 in 1000 owners that increased their power to this level would even potentially have this issue, so the chances are much higher that they would blow a tire in a hard corner. In other words this doesn't really apply to anyone consider those that it may affect would definitely be doing serious suspension upgrades
@revmatchtv2 жыл бұрын
A more detailed response is that the Nurburgring situation is not encountered on too many tracks: very high velocity (160-220+kph) over a crest into a turn. That of course will unweight the suspension dramatically and cause camber/toe changes in the rear making the car feel unstable. Most tracks don't have that type of dynamic and so most drivers will never encounter it. Jackie Ding has competed at a wide range of tracks in his Supra and has not encountered it. It's a very short wheelbase car and likes to rotate pretty quickly. As others have pointed out, much of the camber changes can be dialed out by swapping out the rear control arms and bushings with SPL components. The added benefit is more alignment adjustability. Personally, I've never been on a track where this situation occurs, however the car will keep you on your toes.

The BMW B48 is probably good for around 350whp, that's pushing it. Before you start lifting the head, blowing the turbo, probably with some head studs, new turbo, piping,E85, before you fully build the block, internals should handle 450hp, its basically a B58 with only 4 cylinders. it should be able the same rods and pistons as the B58, im not sure, but a B58 has been proven to push 850hp wheel with stock internals.

Why does it bother you so? Why are you so insecure that you need to act macho? I assure you, you've hit no "tender spot". I find it hilarious and annoying that people are so troubled by the duo.
