If you came across this video while trying to fix your own TV, here's a simple way to fix it a lot quicker without injecting any voltage (you will need a multimeter): Simply measure the two capacitors that i pointed out in the video, usually on the left board but possibly the right. Check to see which one is short and then just carefully remove the capacitor. I skipped a lot of steps explaining why I did what i did, however I will try to make a video explaining the whole process, and another video showing you the multimeter shortcut. Anyway thanks for watching (:

Did you ever get to make video on how to do this with multimeter? Also would this be my situation if I se like a black purple screen backlights and sound are present but no picture?

Unfortunately I haven’t come across this tv since then, we used to get it in all the time 😫 I don’t know about any spots, but the tv will have a sort of dark grey/purple light

@@surefixtech I’ll try and remove that cap you removed because yes I do have that dark grey purple light. I’ll report back if that worked. Thanks

@@surefixtech I just want to say THANK YOU!!!!! I’ve been looking for a solution for this everywhere and no on has had the answer, but you! Your video just popped up out of nowhere. I just skipped the testing I know I should of testes first first, but I removed that cap on the left side and viola!!! Tv has picture now. They game me this tv so it’s a win for me!!! You got another subscriber!!!!

Hey man, almost threw my TV out, saw your video and decided "what the f***, might as well junk it missing a couple useless capacitors" and lo and behold, your fix worked!

Thank you so much! Removing the same capacitor you did worked for me. I was wondering if the capacitor needs to be replaced after removing? Is the tv safe to use without it?
@surefixtechАй бұрын
Yes, it’s just a filter capacitor. I’m glad it worked for you!

Thank you. This worked on my 58A56EUR. I tested both with a multi meter. Both had the same resistance and low voltage if that means anything. Out of desperation I just yanked both capacitors out.

I used reciept paper and a 9v battery in place of the power supply. Worked great!

That is really awesome! Do you mind if I steal your idea for the next video on this topic? Such a creative solution, I love it!

Amazing! I am gonna try this. What was the paper you used?

Thermal packaging paper sticker. I ripped it from an Amazon delivery box :p

So I tried to check the resistance with multimeter across multiple capacitors on the same side of the board where you showed the bad one. Most of them beeped. Does it mean all are bad? I disconnected the ribbon bale and half of the tv showed white screen. How do I go about narrowing down the issue before breaking capacitors. In you case it was single I doubt the tv will work if I remove more then one.
@surefixtech2 ай бұрын
@rkbest9783 the proper way is to inject voltage into one of the bigger capacitors, like I showed in the video. You can also desolder the one I showed in the video, and just test that one for a short. If it’s fine, place it back and check the other one. In my experience, it’s one of the two side by side that I removed.

@@surefixtech when you apply voltage, are the cables all connected. Also can I use a 12v power adapter as I don’t have a adjustable one like yours

@rkbest9783 @rkbest9783 Good question! Unplug everything. Unplug the panel from the tcon, unplug the ac cord from the power board. Also, be careful. I wouldn’t recommend using anything but a variable power supply specifically made for this purpose. The safest way to determine which capacitor of the two is bad is to desolder, test for short, and then repeat if the short persists

i'm trying to figure out this problem on my tv, which is exactly this model. I'm a child when it comes to circuit boards, etc but how can something be removed and then it works?
@surefixtech7 ай бұрын
From what I understand, the capacitor in this circuit is used to reduce noise interfering with the signal. The capacitor became short, and so removing it removed the short circuit. And since it’s not a vital part of the circuit, electricity will still flow.
