I have nothing against Brett but she's not the definition of wife materia,l she's overachieving, ambitious, and has other male like qualities. I'm not saying this to put her down but she's not a traditional wife at all The qualities she has makes her very successful at her job at her KZbin channels but she is literally the career woman. To be a trad wife she'd have to give all that up and I just don't see her doing that. I'm not saying she can't get a good husband she's got good qualities but truly high caliber males that she would probably be into They may not pick her because they don't want someone who they feel they have to compete with who has a career themselves. Brett is not the '50s housewife and high value males would see this and choose not to be with her. Brett is young she's like 21 I mean can't believe I'm saying this cuz people said this about me but she's literally kind of still a baby like she has a time to find a good partner man and have kids if that's the route she wants to do but either she's going to find someone who is more on a 50/50 footing with her or she wants to be the housewife she's going to have to give some stuff up and give time to be in that. That's her decision to make.

And that's why Brett is single, childless, and independent, with a high-paying, low-hours job with almost 3 million followers.😊 Perfectly aligned with her not-at-all-hypocritical message and the secret life of a housewife. a 50s wife didn't have the right to express her mortification even, and it was all because of men like you. You're all a bunch of hypocrites, who are doing nothing but trying to DEIFY their own culture.

@@joannapaw4040 You’re right. Women were built tougher and stood by their men until it was clear he wasn’t going to cut it as a man and a provider. These days, one moment of weakness or unattractive behavior is instant disqualification. The illusion of options has warped your minds so badly that you can’t see how you stack against your competitors nor recognize the truth worth of a man at first glance.
@joannapaw4040
@joannapaw4040 Жыл бұрын
@@Monkey_Business_JJ how many women had no voice and were beaten by those men too. Bad marriages lasted long, because it was a scandal to divorce. People were shamed for it. Some people maybe were lucky and happy. Nowadays how marriage looks like depends also on a person. It's silly to believe all women think the same thing.
@Monkey_Business_JJ
@Monkey_Business_JJ Жыл бұрын
@@joannapaw4040 You’re talking about a very small percentage of marriages from back then as if they were the majority. Let’s talk about the men who were beaten physically by their wives and told not to fight back. Hell, let’s talk about the ones who still are, or even the men who aren’t even married to a girl getting physically assaulted. What do you have to say for them? I’d wager nothing because it doesn’t affect YOU. The truth is, most men will love, respect, and protect their wives with their very lives, even if their wives treat them like crap, but men don’t want women who act up, and women don’t want men who just take it. Men want peace in the home, but all they come home to is war.
@joannapaw4040
@joannapaw4040 Жыл бұрын
@@Monkey_Business_JJ look at data. Violence in families was common and there was not enough laws that would protect people. If a woman was violent towards a man, they had no one on their side. In 50s if a man would admit that wife is violent, people would laugh at him. The world the conservatives dream about never existed. Talk to elderly people, your family. I did and felt sorry for them. Life was hard, perhaps it depends also in which country and culture.

I was talking to one of the girls in church the other day, and she was talking about marriage as if it is something she will do on the side. I told her to talk to married women, especially stay at home moms, and she will find out, for most women, marrying a good man and having his kids is the most fulfilling thing ever. She looked at me as if I had my head on backwards. She has this idea that marriage is about happiness, her happiness, and she believes that the more children you have, the less happy you will be.... So deluded

I sincerely thank you. You give me hope that there are still young women and men that aren't blind. To those of you that think that 50s housewives were depressed and oppressed... My grandma never had an actual job until her mid 50s. She only chose to get a job to help pay off the boat and camper etc. faster before grandpa retired. It's not that she didn't do anything. She kept the house immaculate, cooked 3 meals a day, baked bread basically daily along with pies and cakes, crocheted and cross stitched and even sewed things like wedding gowns, had the most amazing vegetable garden and did all kinds of canning of everything. She taught me how to cut up chickens (btw Gordon Ramsey has it all wrong) and rabbits and fry fish. She didn't clean the fish because she generally outfished everyone and it was like her pass. She was the authority in the household as well in a lot of ways. Even grandpa was sol if he missed her cooking breakfast. She was always involved with the community especially when it came to the kids. She sewed all of my dads boyscout troops stuff and my aunts girls scouts and was very active with both. She was a true professional homemaker and she loved it. She took pride in it and she was damn good at it. What today's society is lacking is the ability to actually tend to a family and just as important a community in healthy and constructive ways. We need more grandma's! Lol or at the very least clear thinking and intelligent young women such as yourself. 👍

It does seem nice, but that's only if you're lucky enough to be with someone who genuinely loves and cares about you. Imagine having a husband who would constantly hit and cheat on you and having no way to escape. Also, it's not for everyone. Women having the choice to be able to work and be more independent doesn't take away from women who want to live in a traditional way. It's when one group tries to force each other into their lifestyle by shaming them then there's issues.

The culture shock is real! 😂 My mother was a 50s housewife and is now in her 80s. She does not understand modern women at all. I tried explaining OnlyFans to her the other day and she did not understand why so many young women thought it was such a great idea and not degrading. She was horrified when she learned about dick pics. Especially, the part about men sending them unsolicited. Don’t even get her started about what the sexual revolution did and how sexually promiscuous so many women are today. What’s also frustrating is the difference between the reality of what an actual 50s housewife’s life was like and what the modern woman “believes” it was, is night and day. My mom is the strongest person I know, is incredibly intelligent and the most caring person ever. She ran the household, took care of all the finances, including their rental properties, raised 8 children and was a army wife. Together my parents built an amazing life. They’ve been married 67 years and my dad lives by the motto “A happy wife equals a happy life.” Women today act like women in the past had no agency and must have been miserable or just weren’t smart enough to realize how horrible their lives were. Which couldn’t be further from the truth.

I would personally not want to live in the 50s. As a woman of color, the 50s would be a hellscape for someone like me. Everything I could use from bathrooms, schools, and water fountains would be junk, since colored fountains and buildings were all old and run down. Racism was the norm back then. In the 50s, women couldn't have their own bank account, could not buy or sell property, had little control of their earnings in most situations, and were discouraged from acting politically, such as hold office. I couldn't marry a white man to get a more privileged life either, since more than 90% of Americans back then were against interracial marriage. Moldly and rusted water fountains, run down and dusty buildings, forced poverty, no chance to earn a sufficient income, and no control over my money and no chance to fulfill my dreams. This would be my life if I lived in the 50s. Instead of romanticizing that era, women today should be thankful they don't have to live in that time period.

She’s also not high on Valium, which was a very common prescription back in the 1950s and 60s for women who were stay at home housewives and bored to death. The Rolling Stones song “mother‘s Little helper” is all about the Valium that women were taking by the handful back then.

Tell us about your experience. Was it tough being a 50s housewife?? How old are you BTW? If you were a 50s housewife I find it amazing that you’re on KZbin lol
