S5M-05239 James Dornan: When the Lisbon Lions Roared, 50th Anniversary of Celtic's
European Cup Win-That the Parliament congratulates Celtic FC on the 50th anniversary of its
historic win over Inter Milan in the European Cup final on 25 May 1967; considers that this was a
magnificent achievement for a football club with all of its players living within a 30-mile radius of its
home ground, Parkhead; notes that it was the first British team to win this trophy, and believes
that, for Scottish and British football, the Lisbon Lions set a standard that is unlikely to be matched
by a solely home-grown club again.
