Dear Antonia, I am a Thai and interested in Russian language. I study it by myself for quite a while as I do it in English but it cannot comparable. Russian is very difficult, cases, conjugation etc. I found your channel not long ago. Thank you so much for these great lessons, your time and your talent, The only suggestion from me is that could you please speak the Russian words or sentences more slowly especially a long word and then repeat it in normal speed. Thank you very much. Ваэн,

i will try to explain it for those who didn't understand it, because in Arabic we say it the same way so i think i got it :) in English we say : "i like the car" in Russian it goes : "the car makes me like it" now you can clearly see why Antonia said the car is the subject. and you can also see why you have to conjugate (change) the verb - because the verb or the action is done by the car (it's the subject) and not by you ! also you can see why we used "me" instead of "I" and for the same reason we used "menya" in russian instead of "ya". practically the verb "nravetsya" means "make-you-like" and not "like". i hope this helps, after @Antonia approves it of course because maybe i said something wrong. btw thank you Antonia! I switched youtube teachers a lot but you were the one i kept listening to.

привет, меня Маляк, я египтянка.. Я хочу благодарить Вам за эти прекрасные видеофильмы. Мне очень нравятся они :) у меня 2 вопроса; можно сказать "Ты мне нравишься" или нельзя? а второй вопрос, я учусь на факультете иностранных языков на первом курсе, но я изучаю русский язык, поэтому в университете учители русского языка учат нам медленно. Как Вы думаете, что надо делать чтобы говорить такой трудный и тяжёлый язык быстро? спасибо Вам большое
@AntoniaRomaker9 жыл бұрын
Malak El Samahy Здравствуйте, большое спасибо за комментарий! :) Говорить "ты мне нравишься", конечно, можно ;) Чтобы быстро научиться говорить нужно много читать, слушать и смотреть видео ;) изучать грамматику тоже полезно, так как это ускоряет процесс формирования предложений. Не бойтесь делать ошибки и всё у Вас получится ;)

I wonder if your humour is a learnt English one - or Russian. I was asked "why do want to learn Russian" which I answered, posted. So my question to you: "Why would you not want to enter the KGB any more?" - Answer: Slowa Boga there are other ways and means now to learn English.

Antonia Romaker - English and Russian online Thank you for repyling so friendly. So it was "either" to you. Is there some prolbem with "other", "alternatie", ""comrades ... which makes me tell you about "other's" in German: "anderen Weg gegangen" kryptically is what some "security" advisor told an interviewer when he was asked about "did you stay/remain/hold on to coal/cabbage/Kohl (what is Kohl in Russian - I do not know) " -answer: "took some other way (so - "here's to you": You English must be better than mine. To be true, I cannot tell if your "path led the other way" is just perfect English. Then, you did make me learn soemthing - in English, again, thank you. P.S. Just for "knowing you...." Putin according to KZbin was siad to study law and languages to be accepted for civil sercive. 'Verly late it occured to me that both might have veen very "exceptionel" in Russia of These days that is....
@peterbernhard741510 жыл бұрын
Peter Bernhard ...those were the days my fiiend (folk song).... another Option: "lead me - the other day", which beats my funnyness....
@AntoniaRomaker10 жыл бұрын
Peter Bernhard here we can say: 'my path led another way' - it means there are many other ways 'my path led the other way' - there is just one more alternative I used the second one as I meant that there were two ways here possible - to take the job or not, to be accepted or not, so as long as I choose one way of two possible ways, I say 'the other' way (it is clear which one) 'my path led some other way' is also possible, it is like 'my path led another way', one of many alternatives

@AntoniaRomaker9 жыл бұрын
Daniel Sahagun Мне нравится курить. Курить is what you (мне) like. The person who likes something should be in Dative (I like - Мне нравится, he likes - ему нравится, they like - им нравится etc) Hope it'll help ;)
