Jarretman, thank you for allowing Finding Equilibrium to use the KJ vs AT hand in a GTO breakdown analysis as it “Help(ed) Me” encounter your channel. I have seen a drastic improvement in both how I play and think about the game.
@michaelculyer47213 жыл бұрын
Just found this because of Finding Equil's channel. When starting to study solvers do you think it is most helpful to identify the concepts the solver is using, or brute memorization of different spots that help act as a baseline reference you can compare real time spots to? Love the content keep it up!
@vasuahuja46583 жыл бұрын
IMO a combo of both. knowing the frequency of your range in a spot . concepts are more important for hand selection

Hey man, sorry for asking this but i was wondering in the hand at 2:13, KQs... On that specific river, because TT and 77 are hands that now win against you, and because the paired 5 completing the color might stop villian action... Lets say he haves a bigger % of checks behind with AAKKQQJJ Dont you consider folding? After all on turn he was kind of polarizing his range, on that specific river, i doubt that AAKKQQJJ would bet again, neither would AT or KT. The flushdraws are now in front of you, and because its paired, his top set now traps you. My question is: ¿What are you winning against?
@EpicShkun3 жыл бұрын
sb has to call a bunch of pairs so jj+ is jamming, it can't just defend 5x and backdoor clubs or villian will print a ton of money by bluffing turn and river with overcards

I see that you don't really know about 3bet cold callilng. ex) UTG w/ A2s opens 2.2bb, MP 3bets 7.5bb BB cold calls 7.5bb your pot odds get worse not better. I solved these kind of sims w/ simple preflop and you should be tighter when there are coldcallings than w/o cold callings. So you are not gonna call 3bet w/ A2s UTG vs MP 3bets. So it's an super easy fold when there are cold callings. even AQo is far easier fold w/ cold calling since AQo really performs terrible at mutliway and 4bet bluff is get worse option cause' fishes don't like to fold to 4bet even 4bet jams when they got real something like TT. FYI) 3bet cold calling is fishy play for sure and I node locked with very fishy range like JJ-55 AQo-AJo KQo AQs-ATs etc... and even against this kind of fishy range, you should be tighter. but you should be tighter especially w/ Axs suited connectors and you could be somewhat wider w/ pocket pairs since these kind of hands performs well against multiple players when they hit sets, and it's even more profitable to hit sets against fishes.

On the hand at 45:23 of 500zoom. Should we not have a 2 sizing strategy of 2/3rds bet and 150%overbet since specifically on the 632 we have a top end advantage with 54s which our opponent would never have and 54o wouldn’t continue to 3X with rake. Drivers for 2 sizing strategy being we have nut advantage and 2/3rd sizing being related to advantage deeper into ranges with overpairs. Plus with a flush draw out there it would incentive us to bet bigger as far as I’m aware. Obviously being out of position may make everything ive said untrue but BU vs BB this makes sense to me, interested to hear your thoughts! Cheers

So did you run the KQ vs JJ spot ?
@huguito86072 жыл бұрын
35.50 you said that hands that could overbet that river, given the line chosen (x/x, x/x, x/ovrbet) blocks your calling range, but isn´t, let´s say 3/4 with a KQ an A5 also blocks your calls (AX, KX, JX)?. What i mean is: you are gonna get called by what you are gonna get called and on this spot, x bhnd 2 times and bet river, has the same class of hands that calls for both of you (Ax and Kx), both aggresor and defender has the same kind of hands, wich is a pair, so why not overbet on this spot with some hands if you block the same range that wants to call you, when you bet 3/4 pot size (or 66%, whatever).

39:00 That hand pretty close decision. You need 34% your call is nice and you had 23% and thats in the best scenario. But there is a lot of dead money and already you did invest...... I was expecting hands like 88 99 77 89s 87s 76s 79s 9Ts (not JT cause you could have AJ AT on that blind 4bet range)... bc TT+ I expect him jamming preflop in that spot. And i dont see lots of bluffs considering your stack and the pot size and was a reg player. I was pretty sure your hand needed to improve. Im not sure if its an ok call, i guess it depends on how steong you feel he could be.... But he might already have 99 77 or two pairs 67s 79s. If i have to be honest i would have folded that hand before looking to the income and what you did i dont really sure if youre not even that close to that 34% Btw. On that hand 42:00 despite he had you on the flop i prefer making a cbet (half pot) bc i think is the ev+ decision on the long term, you want to protect the hand to hands as QK AQ AJ 99 88 with a diamond plus he could had a hand as 9T spades instead of 9Tdiamonds and giving him the 4rth diamond on the turn and if youre playing against a good aggro reg and he bet you twice with a bluff turn and river you would have a top decision and probably fold. So not giving a free diamond is the play there. If he raise you, you can call and reevaluate turn, if he bets turn again you can fold easily You had a very bad session here. Some kind of unlucky. That TT vs QKs was very bad run out. You played in general good this session, despite you loose money but im pretty sure i would have fold that AK in that case.

why do hands with bad blockers want to bet small, and hands with good blockers want to bet big?
@kevinvo97642 жыл бұрын
In theory if you have bad blockers you are unblocking their value combos/calling range and blocking their bluffs/folding range so betting big would not be advisable. On the other hand good blockers block their value combos while unblocking all their air/bluffs therefore allowing you to bet bigger. Also important to note that blockers simply provide incremental equity and become more important as the hand progresses, don't make your decisions solely off what you are blocking/unblocking.
@miaowmiaowchowface2 жыл бұрын
@@kevinvo9764 basically; more blocker = good hand therefore bet bigger?
@kevinvo97642 жыл бұрын
@@miaowmiaowchowface well its hard to simplify blockers into one quick and easy heuristic because you have to take into account the context of the situation, from analyzing the situation you will be able to determine what your best option is knowing that you block/unblock specific hand combos. For example there will be hands where betting big with strong blockers can cause you to miss out on EV because you are blocking their bet/calling range when you bet big, forcing them out the pot/off their equity and stopping them from calling with worse hands that you can get value from.
@miaowmiaowchowface2 жыл бұрын
@@kevinvo9764 ah yes sorry; I meant when bluffing, not when having value. I understand the inverse would then be to bet smaller with value + strong blockers (or trap).
@TriTruongPoker2 жыл бұрын
When bluffing bad blocker means that particular hand doesnt block many opponent’s value hand and maybe block some folding range too. Therefore, these hands mainly want to give up or bet small if you have some value hands support small size. Good blocker vice versa mean you block lot of value your opponent gonna call with, since then you often bet and bet big.

I'd like to see one of these high stake "elite" how they handle 2-3 months of real online poker when every single good hand is worse than the opponent's. Every straight, flush, boat, not just AA, KK. Every day 9-10 times/day for a few good months. I would love to see what sort of bullshit can they come out with.
