Just came across this video after finishing my own 4 year Chinese degree! Currently working in Tokyo for a year which has been a huge culture shock as well. Hoping to finally make it to mainland China myself next summer. I hope you have a great time in Beijing :) Looking forward to more videos!

Ah we are in such a similar position! I would loooove to travel to Japan it’s next on my list, hopefully once I’ve mastered Chinese I could move on to learn Japanese 🤞I hope you have the best time and that culture shock doesn’t affect you too much, and maybe see you in China some time :)

ohh woaw, you have explored a lot of places, keep doing that ~ like yunnan, sichuan or my hometown guangzhou. Love your editting (also 7 yrs one) and some angles of filmming :). // If a middle-age guy staring at your, I guess they are just curious and confused what you are doing. they just don't watch and not familiar with vlog thing. Similar with you watching old people singing and dancing in the park.

I would looove to travel round China! I hope I get the chance to. I can understand why they are staring at me when I’m filming, but I meant more just in everyday life, like when I’m on the metro or something haha, they are just surprised to see a foreigner I think!

@ Yes, the main reason is that you are a foreigner, you look different in the crowd. // But it depends also, my mom really like staring and observing people in the metro; I told her please don’t stare at people, that seem stressful to others and she said she just thinks they are pretty and can’t help looking at them :) maybe someone just a bit insensitive and unaware of such behavior can bother others. And they will definitely forget you after getting off metro.
