I have a couple of these. One from my course in 96 and another I found on Craigslist. It’s a really old one. It is all blue and has “Foley Belsaw” cast in it. I’ve cut a lot of keys on the older one. These aren’t really made for nickel silver blanks and the jaws do suck but I’ve been able to cut BEST M keyways on them with an aluminum wire as a shim and to keep them square. There was an old Foley Belsaw school location about 20 mins away in Kansas City MO. It was active back in the 90’s and instead of the correspondence course you could go do the course there (I think they said it was 2 week course). Now everything is up north. Idk how they do their stuff or what they offer (I did AC Repair correspondence course through them as well). They still have locksmith store online. Thanks for sharing!

I have one of these. I used a piece of panty hose for a temporary belt. I took it in to my locksmith and he laughed so hard but was shocked that it worked quite well

Pantyhose also have historically helped out during volcanic eruptions as air filters

Years ago I picked up one at an antique store for $30.00. Foley Bellsaw is still around selling parts for these machines and some locksmith supplies online. I use it still just for brushing keys. Funny that the noise mine makes is the same as yours - unmistakable.

I have one of those, but it looks like I'm missing the alternate tracers, mine has the flat and angled one. But I have all the wheels. Nice video, Have a great day

I agree that the clamping jaws are miserable. I rebuilt mine with a new carriage with modern 4 way jaws and it is much better. I really like the micrometer adjustment of the stylus.

I recently got one of these in retired locksmith's storage unit buy. Waiting for the replacement belt to arrive to give it a whirl.

It sure is! I have a course handbook, (the modern one). They did discontinue the program for a short while.

Can you describe how you did this ? Mine seems to have worn jaws too.
