Wow, one of the best tutorials I've seen on KZbin. Clear, planned and structured layout. Intro, actual performance, breakdown of the moves, variation, tips. And a BIG thank you for keeping everything you say relevant, not rambling on or doing unnecessary things like adding jump cuts to your face. Subbing just for the quality of this video. I thought videos like this died out on KZbin.

Use a piece of paper with the same dimension, just to make sure that you do the correct moves. After practice a lot you try with a real card, with a cheap deck :DD (sry for my poor english, hope you understand the message)

Or just buy a one way force deck
@tuckerwarlock8 жыл бұрын
You only need 2 decks of the same color. You can perform this at least a dozen times before needing another pack of cards. Most people wouldn't know the difference between 52 cards, and 40 something cards.
@patrickdeviney9048 жыл бұрын
Try buying Bicycle pinochle decks. They come with two of each card (A,K,Q,J,10,9) and have the same back design as a standard bicycle deck. Always helpful when you need duplicated; plus you don't need to worry about destroying a full deck.

Nice effect and excellent tutorial. One weakness in my eye is there's no reason why the observer needs to sign the card piece. Obviously, from the effects viewpoint it's to give a reason to put a hand into a pocket so you can drop the torn pieces as you pull out the sharpie. How about, after doing the shaking the card box "can you hear the pieces" thing you add the signed fragment to the box and then do the magic move?
@leumasarc41808 жыл бұрын

Great trick. I have a torn and restored trick that I've been using for years, but you are left with a piece at the end and have to ditch it. With yours, you start with the corner and end clean. Even though the other way looks a lot more realistic because you actually make the card restore in front of them instead of a box, and I've yet to be caught with the piece, I'd rather end clean like yours, well done.

A nice touch on this effect is to shake the box when you put the "pieces" in it. People can hear the "pieces" rattling around inside. It cements the fact that you really just put the pieces in the box. It also takes a little heat of people watching your hands.
@CDTVGaming8 жыл бұрын
This trick is great, but tbh I don't really see the point in the spectator signing the card, doesn't seem like it adds much as nothing happens with the signed part
@MexieMex8 жыл бұрын
It adds the subterfuge to go into your pocket so you can dump the ripped pieces to end clean.
@Mike-Hughes-Timmins8 жыл бұрын
getting the spectator to sign the card is the reason for going into a pocket to get the pen :)
@joachimlarsen2k8 жыл бұрын
It emphasizes the impossible nature of the situation from the spectators point of view. They sign a piece that actually fits the "restored" card that was visibly torn apart.
@CDTVGaming8 жыл бұрын
Yeah those are all good points, but I just kinda feel like it takes away from the effect more than anything, I do still like it though!
@tinag11068 жыл бұрын

The card force was soooo obvious you didnt give them the card they pointed to
@stuarcari6 жыл бұрын
Yeah in my opinion this is a terrible force. First of all, I think some eagle eyed lay people will notice the card you show them came from the top of the deck. Yes, most people won't notice, but it's not well hidden and people who like to really watch will see it. Also as you mentioned, it just looks weird. Why am I showing them a different card to the one they touched. It doesn't make sense. Some of your audience will still be thinking about this instead of going along with the rest of the trick. Even if they don't know it's a force, they may think something iffy just happened, and you open yourself up to someone asking why you didn't show them the card that was touched. I think you're better just doing some kind of riffle or dribble force where they shout stop, because in the audiences mind, showing the bottom card of the top packet, or the top card of the bottom packet are as equally logical. Showing a card that wasn't pointed to isn't. I know people will say the majority of audiences won't notice or say anything and that's probably true, but why open yourself up by doing something that can be perceived as wrong or weird.
@jonnyrocket81386 жыл бұрын
I actually just performed this trick for the very first time today for four different coworkers, so four different performances. I repeated it virtually identically as the tutorial. No one suspected the force at all. what seemed a little shady, and it was most likely my performance, was reaching into my pocket for the pen. That point, if anything is the weak link of the trick. But experience and skill will help me to get through that in future performances without drawing suspicion. It is a very solid trick that I was able to pull off convincingly after having only watched the video once and rehearsed once or twice. Great trick!

If you fold the restored card in a particular way it will actually look like card pieces inside the box. Shaking the box from side to side you can actually show them the restored card at the bottom of the box with a quick peek, their persistence of memory makes them think its the pieces of the torn card. THIS makes the final effect even more profound.

Thanks for the vid, great effect! At the part where you fake out for the pen grab, you could maybe stabilize the box with your right hand while you curl your left hand's fingers around the torn pieces, and then let the box rest between your left index and thumb, then go for the right pocket as usual, but then when you swap the box into your right hand you already have the torn pieces covered (in your partly closed hand). it's almost the same thing, but it breaks the unsafe part into 2 smaller bits, plus you don't have to wrist kill at all... Just a thought, I'll have to go and try it though. Thanks again :)

After the card was ripped up he displays the pieces and the receipt it looks like there are 2 nearly identical card corners at 2:21. While the trick wasn't revealed, it appeared like there was something 'funny' going on in the first presentation. Once I saw that I then started tracking the ripped up ones following them into the pocket. Something to consider when displaying the ripped up card.
