The Tabled Riffle Shuffle is a standard way to shuffle a pack of cards in any card game. It is also a great shuffle for magicians to learn because there are some great false shuffles and controls that can be done while shuffling the deck with this method.

Such a great tutorial. I never thought in a million years I’d be able to do this shuffle but after a very small amount of practice (half an hour) I can now do it every time. Thanks for sharing your skills with the world! 😎👍

Thanks for this tutorial! I am an adult but I have physical difficulties with my hands and have never been able to really shuffle cards. And I love card games! Now thanks to this lesson I can finally shuffle my own decks properly.

Being a playing card collector and casino chip collector, as a kid, I've seen my Lolo do this so smooth. I'd try and emulate him but he does it like a pro dealer in a casino. Even trying to learn from this guy still takes a lot of practice.

I've seen the squaring action done slightly differently and, I think, a bit more cleanly and reliably. The two halves are brought closer together while still in their angled "v" (closer than you bring them) until the the entire deck can be squared by pulling inward from the edge facing away from you.

I just can't riffle them like that. I can riffle them normally, a normal in-the-hands-shuffle (without table) but I cannot do it on a table. The pressure is just way too great and it just ends up creating a really non-smooth motion. Do you have any tips, Asad?
@kyoroll4140

don't do it like this dude is doing... cup your hands like an oven mitten with just your thumbs separated and secure the cards with your rest of your four fingers, and riffle with using your thumbs on having the cards shaped like a diamond V.

Do you have to "lock down" the cards somehow? Whenever I do it, often the cards start "slipping" and falling out instead of falling into the same place. Do you lift the piles completely off the table, or do you let the back edge rest on the surface?
@aditsu
@aditsu 8 жыл бұрын
+Wilky I had this problem too. Look at his other 3 fingers, they are pressing down the outer-back corner of each pile. That helps keep them in place. He didn't really explain that part.
@Wilky
@Wilky 8 жыл бұрын
aditsu Well, he explains most of it. I was putting way too much pressure while riffling, so they flung in every direction, also doing it on a clean and slippery surface is way harder than I originally thought. After practicing for a few days on a mat or piece of cloth, I can now do it consistently on a regular surface as well. Was pretty much just me not doing it properly.

When I shuffle the two packets together there is a tendency for the uppermost cards of each packet to "miss" the interlacing and therefore not get shuffled. Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong?

Very easy shuffle to learn and very effective. Took me like 5 minutes to get it right. I learned the in the hands riffle shuffle then this so this was very easy for me but *I recommend you guys learn this then the in the hands riffle shuffle* as you need better riffling in the in the hands.

Great tutorial Asad. Might I make a suggestion? Since you got the table riffle down maybe you could do a tutorial in adding, after the riffle a table bridging of the cards to end the that shuffle. I believe most people call it bridging the cards. Its easier for me to bridge the cards in my hands but i see other in videos bridge the cards after a riffle why the cards are on the table still. Anyways good work as always. Bye

How do you angle the cards against the table/mat so that they riffle smoothly and don't spread around when falling?
@theschlimmfisch625
@theschlimmfisch625 9 жыл бұрын
+aditsu try to put a little bit of pressure with your middle fingers on the top card of each pile, don't grip the piles with your middle fingers from behind when you riffle them, let the surface be the grip. because of the pressure the cards will stay and will not spread around. worked for me just now, i had the same problem.
@aditsu
@aditsu 8 жыл бұрын
+The Schlimmfisch Thank you! Yes, pressing down the corner seems to be the key. Then the angle is not important. It just needs practice.

This is easier on the cards, less interesting to look at, requires a freaking table, and is harder to boot than leftmost flashier and simpler versions you can find elsewhere online. That's why it's imperative that any self-respecting budding magician master it before they move on to other riffles. A great tool.

@unrefillable I'm talking about after the table riffle shuffle is done to add a bridge while the cards are on the table, which is different than a , "in the hands riffle with a bridge." Hence why I asked Asad to cover the table bridge technique while a table riffle shuffle is done.
