These turnip28 setting is weirdly fitting to your style of painting. 😅 Awesome work. Everytime you release a video I get an instant motivation boost - and for some strange reason the desire to make some earl grey tea and listen to a vinyl record of some philharmonic version of lord of the rings songs o.O I really appreciate your different approach to hobby videos here on youtube. It's a highlight every time. Thank you.

Excellent! Earl Grey is indeed the kind / queen of tea's. Thanks Bea!

Working backwards, at the end that's a beautifully atmospheric diorama paintjob achieved with a simple succession of shockingly doable processes. They're very close to my own unit painting approach and I haven't seen it used better to establish a feel, a lost corner of a war long drained of all blood and tears, the figures are almost see-through in their shared desaturated palette. I cried tears of joy (nearly) when the scalecolour artist tubes came out, I'm still using mine just for a texturing and detail pass after the oils, they're ideal for it and not really much else. I paint with these techniques but trying to make my boys style look like everyone else's, I really need to paint some 75mm just to see what I can do with mood and effect. Inspiring, beautiful work Alex, thank you

@@zazzenfuk A man with many cunning plans and a love, bordering on obsession, with turnips. He was a character in the sitcom Blackadder, a series I would encourage anyone to watch (probably don't start with the first season, it wasn't the greatest. Outstanding. Properly Turnip, as all things should be. A while back, I had the notion of using a Turnip28 army as Imperial Guard. With the idea being it's a regiment from a planet taken over by a colossal root. Basically, what if Cyst was on a planet in the 40K universe, and the Imperium found it. For whatever reason, Imperial authorities decided to keep it all as-is, but press-ganging soldiers into service in the Emperor's inexhaustible armies. Turns out if you give the disgusting mutants real food, and in minor abundance, they'll follow you to hell itself (or at least the Warp). Though they don't accept any other food except root vegetables. Their stomachs and tongues can't handle anything else, after lives of feasting on their world's native Root. Still, they're a lot more lucid when eating something that doesn't give them hallucinations. Maybe...TOO lucid. They start crying or becoming violent. Maybe sprinkling in some of their native root into their rations is necessary after all... Less than ideal, of course. And basically every other Imperial force has a tendency to attack the weirdos on sight. But there is Only War, and the Emperor's war machine needs grist for the mill.

Turnip is great been around for 3 years or so but it gets jumps every now and then the current ks just came out today and has 42.5k Euro raised so far. I hope it grows alot it is amazing so much creativity in it not just from modeling and painting side of things.
@klug59162 күн бұрын
@@yagsipcc287 Thank you for your answer. Honestly, with the number or tabletop and wargames, it's difficult to follow everything. I still have a ton of Warhammer 40k miniatures (various factions for my own pleasure of painter), but that doesn't mean that I'm not curious about other wonders!
@yagsipcc2872 күн бұрын
@@klug5916 no worries there are dozens of wargames out every month tbh. One series I love it's a solo/co op skirmish game called Forbidden Psalm (that is the main one) there are different themed ones all work off again theme/setting using Mork Bork like rules. Many different missions and also come with ways to make your own as well. I love them. Rules light, random character creation's or put stats into stuff to keep it more even it's sort of a very light Mordhim I know I spelt it wrong ha
@klug59162 күн бұрын
@@yagsipcc287 Well, it sounds very nice. The very few times I have the possibilty to actually play, I use the One Page Rule system. Simple, easy, fast. But yes, dozens of interesting games, not even speaking about tabletop RPG...

Alex, the poor marine was unfortunate to board a derelicte "not as in zoolander mind you",whereupon he noticed a glowing room with something growing from the walls, he then woke up in a new home, the home you made for him. Poor marine, he misses the emporer, and has lost his wallet photo of him, for shame. Anyway as always smashing work!😀
