That was very helpful. Thanks! Now that I understand it better I'll give it a try. I'm getting ready to start my retirement gift to me (Sophie's Universe). Think I'll make a couple of the Valentine's pot holders first. Very cute!

Do you have a tutorial on showing one design on one side and another design on the other side ? For example small hearts one one side and a big heart on the other side ? You have so many good techniques and are so good at what you do - thank you ❤

You're very welcome, Vivian! Thank you for your kind words! I have a video for another crochet technique, the Thermal Stitch, where I work a different geometric pattern on each side. I call this technique Tapestry Thermal Stitch. You can watch that video (#50) here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a5eup61reLtlers. As far as mosaic crochet with different sides, I'm not sure if someone has done that yet (there are several designers who have done a light side and a dark side of the same pattern though). Unfortunately, I don't have a tutorial for a mosaic crochet pattern with different sides. It's something to look into, though! If you find a video tutorial for that, I'd love to watch it! Happy crocheting to you!

Love your videos! You are such a great teacher! Do you have any videos or patterns on making any of these designs into a hat? For instance do you have any thermal patterns or mosaic patterns that could be incorporated into a hat? Thanks so much!
@TheCrochetArchitect8 ай бұрын
Thank you so much, Heather! I enjoy teaching and designing! Unfortunately, I don't have any videos or patterns for making any thermal stitch or mosaic patterns into a hat. I just did a quick search on KZbin and MJ's Off the Hook Designs has several videos for making mosaic crochet hats. They look absolutely fabulous! Here's one of her hat videos: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hmayY2SHjJt7apY. Happy crocheting to you now and always!

Could you Please do a tutorial for the heart hotpad💛💜🧶
@TheCrochetArchitect3 ай бұрын
Hi Sonja. Unfortunately, I can't do a tutorial for the heart hot pad (at least not for several years). The heart hot pad is done using the same alternate spike sc mosaic crochet technique as I demonstrate in this video. The paid pattern includes complete written instructions for each row of 2 heart hot pads and charts to follow for each of the 2 heart hot pads, detailing where to work the spike sc to make the project reversible. If you're interested in purchasing this pattern, you can find it on my website here: thecrochetarchitect.com/downloads/heart-mosaic-hot-pads/. Happy crocheting to you!

Hei Susan, your technique is wonderful! I have to say, I hate endings😅 Can I ask, if you could teach how to make somekind of cross pattern? I have my Bible cover on the way and I found you, but i don't get it, how to make this to a cross pattern... I'm not a pro in crocheting at all...🤷🏻♀️ Or if you can tell me, how to "mold" this to a cross? I'd truly appreciate it😅 Thank you and greetings from Finland🙋♀️🇫🇮

Hi Mairka! You're very welcome! What kind of cross pattern are you seeking? Would it be a hot pad, like these, or something else, like a cross bookmark for your Bible? Happy crocheting!

Can I use a lighter weight yarn for the contrast color? I have a lot of light weight yarn cakes that I would like to use . The main color would probably be a DK weight. I we aren’t normally supposed to mix weights but I have so much of it and I am tired of making shawls. 😊
@TheCrochetArchitect8 күн бұрын
That's a good question! Normally, I'd say don't mix yarn weights in the same project. However, if you use a larger hook with the smaller yarn and a smaller hook with the larger yarn, you might be able to get away with it! Are the yarn weights 1 number different or 2 numbers different? I think 2 numbers different would NOT work out, but 1 number different might. However, you'll need to check and make sure the result isn't too holy (if you're planning to make hot pads or potholders). The hot pads I made for this video are made with 100% cotton worsted weight yarn. Please let me know how it turns out. Happy crocheting to you!

Hi again, how do I do if i want make a blanket ? how to repeat?what part i repeat what part is the begin and the end? my difficult is repeat for a blanket of scarf or something else... its hard to understand what part repeat and what part is the begin and the end. Could you explain to me please?thank you very very much
@TheCrochetArchitect6 ай бұрын
Silvia, What stitches and rows to repeat depends on the pattern or design. Some patterns have a very short repeat of only 4-8 stitches/rows and others have a long repeat of over 20 stitches/rows (and some patterns have no repeat). My Mosaic Crochet patterns have written instructions and a chart to follow. The written patterns and charts include which stitches and rows are repeated (except for small projects like hot pads). The Chain Links Scarf pattern that I show at the beginning of this video includes how to make the scarf longer, shorter, wider or narrower by working more or less repeats in width and height. I'm sorry that I didn't show what to repeat in this video. I was just demonstrating the technique for this Alternate Spike SC Mosaic Crochet technique. In most of my mosaic crochet videos, I'm demonstrating the technique. In many of them, I include a free download for the swatch chart to practice the technique (the free chart download is available on my website with the link to the free download in the video description). In 2 of my mosaic crochet videos (#39: Spike DC and #45: Spike SC), the free chart download includes which rows and stitches are repeated to make into a project. I hope this information helps. Happy crocheting to you!

Hi, please do you have free download of this or another mosaic crochet??thank you very very much
@TheCrochetArchitect6 ай бұрын
Hi Silvia. Welcome to my KZbin channel. I have 6 free downloads for various mosaic crochet techniques on my website here: thecrochetarchitect.com/patterns/free-patterns/. All of these downloads are for swatches (practice pieces), not finished projects. But you can learn the various mosaic crochet techniques by working these swatches and watching each video associated with each swatch. Here's the full playlist of my mosaic crochet videos: kzbin.info/aero/PLvrXmMW8WECMkWvZj85aGmtdWVpp3nRrO. Happy mosaic crocheting to you!
