There's something off from the first example to the second one and I think it's related to the recording process, the sound gets very muddy and compressed from the first Hannabach example to the Savarez. You can clearly hear the quality degradation in the audio. That doesn't happen in the second part when you use a microphone, but I think you shouldn't have used reverb in those examples. It's a great comparison and a lot of work though so thanks!

Which are the most durable ones? I wouldn't mind to pay up to $20 as long as the strings sound lasts for 6 months, if there is a set capable to maintain their sound for even longer I'd love to know
@philen Жыл бұрын
The strings need some time to become stable, ranging from a couple of hours playing to several hours. Any set of strings could last for years but after some time they lose intonation which is the real reason you want to switch strings before they break. If you play 20min each day you would probably need to change them in 2-3 months. If you practice more you would need to change them more often. I change about once per month - i practice betwean 20min - 4hours per day. I use hannabach 500 medium. They are dirt cheap, well rounded and lasts quite long. If I would ever perform i would buy a nicer sets of hannabach (i prefer hannabach) and let them break in for a couple of practice sessions before going on stage. Wash your hands before every session since dirty hands will make the strings lose intonation faster. I find some of the worst strings being the pro arte but that is personal - they sound nasal and ugly, have bad balance and lose intonation quickly but are somehow one of the most popular ones. I also prefer hannabach since they are typicaly more dynamic.
