That price (minus lands) actually looks right. Mine with lands came out to just shy of 700... but I'm also slowly "blinging" the deck out. Like original The Dark version of Elves of Deep Shadow.

Just added a Nyxbloom Ancient to my Lateral elf deck. It's a 5/5 creature with trample and all permanents you control that tap for mana, tap for triple the amount. So lands and the elves all tap for triple mana.

yup this looks all right on how i did my deck the same way as this when this first came out and i put my top best cards in it and on top i put my best artifact equipment to is so no other colours can effect my commander the sword light and shadow and the rest. so good man

Thank you! I do need to update some of these older deck guides for sure. There's a ton of new elf stuff that needs to go in. Maybe 29 is too low... But if you have a starting hand with 2 lands and 2 mana dorks, you're probably fine... since that's what a bunch of the elves in the deck do anyway. But you could definitely swap something out for more lands.

@@bandgeekforever100 😂 thanks for the status report. I feel like that sometimes... I'll spend hours on a deck with all the synergies, and it flops super hard. It takes time! And the first through tenth iterations may be bad, but that's what makes it fun. Keep improving!

@ManfredPlusMagic Oh I'm working on it. My biggest issue from what I have been told is mana ramp. I have mana dorks but I don't have many mana rocks or ways to make elf tokens. I also only really have one or two win cons. Need probably another one or two more of those

@@bandgeekforever100 I'd have like 6 elf mana dorks, no rocks, and just mana fetching (like rampant growth and such). And Lathril herself is a win-con as well. There's also Overwhelming Stampede or Triumph of the Hordes. You only want to have around 3 win-cons though. The more you have, the more likely you'll end up with 2 of them in your hand that you can't use or end up getting discarded, etc. I've been in that situation before too many times. 2 or 3 of those stampede effects in my hand with zero creatures and not enough mana. 😑 it's disheartening...

I would drop the Eldrazi Monument and put in Akroma's Memorial. It costs more but there is no downside and an elf ramp deck shouldn't have problems finding the mana.

Yes I have! This is my friend's version of the deck, which I've played a few times. It's very fast and low to the ground. Tons of elves that scare everyone. My own personal version is more budget-friendly, but it's still pretty quick, due to the amount of 1-2 mana value elves in there. Plus all the elf creation effects makes Lathril's ability fairly easy to accomplish. It's loads of fun!

I’ve always been a huge elf fan for both standard and commander. This deck build is quite interesting and takes things in a direction very different from how I do things. So for that I say nice job but I don’t personally like the style

I run a very similar elf build, we are like 7 cards apart, i was surprised xD. So I can tell why parallel lives isnt needed. Too many enchantments can ruin the decks synergy if you get unlucky and this commander doesnt need too much help making elves. Parallel lives is nice, but its almost always an instant target for removal. Plus I would rather have card draw or access to my graveyard in this deck over going wider. People tend to board wipe you over and over again soo the chances of that parallel lives working out are very slim.

With the lord of leaves out all your elves can’t be target to spells or abilities so meaning even all your spells and abilities it kills the deck so you wouldn’t be able to pump up any of your elves 😂

@@grimreafer17 I know. But 1 card out of 100 that can shut down a couple of your other cards isn't that big of a deal. The odds of getting those two at the same time are pretty slim while left to chance. I'd STILL run both of them because it's not a deal breaker 95% or so of the time.
