I got watch my dad race Baja in the 70's & 80's then I got to race against him in the 90's & 00's. I haven't been down to Baja for about a decade. This really brings back good memories. Great job!

I've read numerous items of sabotage of the track by the locals, causing some nasty get offs. Any stories of the sort? 1000 miles is a long ride on my road king, cant imagine wide open at night through Baja.

@@aaronanderson7619 The first thing you need to know in Baja is if there are people on the side of the course, they are there for a reason... They don't stand somewhere were there is no danger or they haven't made a dangerous obstacle. My closest call was when I clipped a spectator car that was driving on the course and went through a barb wire fence. I was fortunate not to hit the car head on, it would have been fatal.

Just another long day in the saddle! Congratulations! We had those two Honda Talons Jamie Campbell prepared and bikes are so, so more easier to pit for than two wheeled machines!

Curious as to why remove the headlights only to re-install later? Required by SCORE? Aerodynamics? Weight? Is the time to swap between the plate negligible since you’re taking tires? Thanks for taking us along for an epic journey. Much appreciated.
@jonny17214 жыл бұрын
im willing to bet they would add a fair bit of weight to the front end. change the handling of the bike. less weight would make it easier on the riders

Lights draw energy; worse, they can be broken during a time when not needed or at best, taking the lights on and off does not take any time when you know the race will be 19 hours long. Great question and thanks for asking it!
