Bertus' skill with woodworking is amazing. The precision nature of his work and high quality woodworking finishes, reflect the skill set he had in his previous career as a metal worker creating medieval armor. How he can adapt equipment to purpose is truly impressive for a relative nooby to woodworking. Great work on those window restorations and refitting them from single glaze to double glaze windows. He could probably make a side job of doing the same for others in the area, for ready cash, once his work on his own home is sufficiently complete for use.

Bertus and Isis….Thank you for the segment on architectural elements and brief discussion on local architectural controls. The beauty of the built environment in Italy didn’t happen by chance, but by design. Also, the effort to update/refurbish rather than replace all the windows is substantial. I truly appreciate your interest in utilizing similar details and color pallets of local buildings. You guys amaze me!

I enjoy watching the two of you restore the beautiful property. It amazes me that you figure out how to do the restorative work, and to witness the transformation of your property; from clearing some hazel wood and bramble growth, to making your own paint and restoration and adaptation of the wood window frames.
