It's mainly the angle that matters. An extreme flip trick like this you want to see it from the same angle the most light is hitting it. Here we are watching literally from in the shadows, that's why it looks poor. The camera doesn't do your eyes justice as the board spins directly in front of the lights above. For this angle to work there needs to be uplight where he pops out from the bank
