I am a little late on my 200 hour maintenance on the Kubota LX2610 Compact Tractor. I get that done, answer a few subscriber questions and talk a bit about the KZbin Channel and a potential future Podcast. Hope you have a few minutes to get together today. Cheers!

Thank you for putting these videos together. I've got a LX2610 also and I'm about 100 hours behind you, so it's been helpful to understand what needs to be done for the bigger maintenance milestones. I always consult the manual, but seeing someone else do the service is immensely helpful. Please keep sharing your maintenance videos.

Hi GP, When changing oil, for both the filter removal as well as the drain plug, I put my gloved hand inside a plastic bag, like what Walmart uses. Keeps my hand clean, and with the filter i fold the bag over the filter. It seems there is always a bit of a mess, but I like to minimize it! great video as always.

Another good video GP. At 04:15, ''ugly season'' no, maintenace season (lolll) Usually, fuel consumption is L/hr. Gord another great video. I think for your pod casts it would be worth talking about issues concerning cottage ownership and maintenance where you don’t necessarily have to show people what you are talking about. If you decide to build your garage both videos and podcasts would be very interesting to see. I was in the same situation you are in now 11 years ago regarding a Garage and we decided to go ahead and build a 24x48 2 story garage. We figured if we didn’t do it then we probably wouldn’t do it after we retired. By the way the size was determined such that I could pile 4 cords of wood around 3 sides. I added a 6 foot wide sidewalk around the building to make it easy to move the wood in and out by wheel barrow. No water in our garage in Kawartha Lakes so no need for separate septic system. We just installed a Waterloo Biofilter system last summer to replace our existing old system. Regarding ideas for the tractor I need help with replacing a broken wheel stud?? Length of hoses on the snow blower chute deflector & Grapple. I’ve ordered a self leveling kit for the LA535 loader and it is next to impossible to find information regarding the installation of the hydraulic components. No dealer I’ve talked to has any idea either. Looking forward to your next bunch of video’s.

Thanks for the great feedback and ideas Andrew. The wheel stud - check out my video #212 - Wheel Spacers. I had to remove all of them. LOL. it was brutal but I got it done and was able to install the new studs. I can't help much with the rest unfortunately. Good luck with the self level install.

My workload is out of control already, but I would stop by as time allows to see what you have to say. It does sound interesting and you do have a high level of professionalism displayed daily in your KZbin videos, so I am sure the production would be the same quality. What's odd is that you and I have the same demographics watching our channels, though my content is quite different than yours though similar in a few respects. What I think is odd, is I have 8.2 % Canadian viewers. LOL Good Luck with all your ventures GP.

Sir, watching the video and I have a B2650, similar to your LX with cab. I had a problem this year with power loss and heavy exhaust smoke while using my snowblower for 45+ minutes; happened twice but always went back to normal after letting the tractor rest for a while. I thought I was running it too hard, contacted the Kubota service department and they advised to keep an eye on it and try to record it if it happens again. A few weeks later it happened again. I Contacted the dealer and the short part of the story is the plastic air intake that extends to just behind and above the radiator needs to be removed during snow operations, and keep the air filter chamber with filters connected. There should be a sticker the dealer said, there wasn’t one, so I marked it with a sharpie to remind me next year. The filter was shot, waterlogged and interior metal screen filter was starting to rust. Replaced both plus picked up a spare air filter and kept the metal screen filter after cleaning it up as a spare. Please contact your Kubota service rep discuss the intake concern with them. Might be fixed on the new LXs. Thanks for posting these informative videos, helps a new owner like me! Stay safe, Len

I really like the podcast idea. I believe people grow, become smarter, wiser, even more energized in life when they except other opinions and idea's that may be better than their own. It is a great feeling to know and see others from different walks of life be capable of coming together to challenge each other. When individuals think of it and see it as the conversations/content actually being able to benefit their self and others and is never to absorb it as offending, it is a great force of power (knowledge is power) that a large percentage of our world surprisedly isn't that capable of handling professionally and friendly. It's not a hidden secret, but sometimes to me it seems like it is. The only idea i have for your podcast is us young fella's, which I know without you specially stating, is more than welcomed. Because, well, as we all know, we know more then anybody (haha wink wink), but to show the different perspective as technology, designs, etc., change faster than what i feel like they use too, we can attempt to provide insight to growing up right in the middle of it.

Gord, First time I have sent you a note, I have watched you for some time. You are such an inspiration, and it does not surprise me about the age demographics of your channel. I too am in that general demographic. I really enjoy watching your videos, especially the tractor work. I too have LX series tractor complimented with about 8 implements. I marvel at how clean you keep your tractor, it always looks great, kudos to your for keeping it that way. I really enjoyed this episode as you perform the 200 hour maintenance while talking about the potential of a pod cast. My tractor has about 75 hours on it, so this video will be very useful to me in the near future. I have a few questions for you. I was watching you change the hydraulic oil filters, or perhaps one was transmission the other hydraulic oil, I noticed that you did not wipe off the mating seal surface of the filter housing. Is that because there is such a rush of oil that you wanted to quickly change them without loosing oil? I also have the same snow blower, looking at your blower housing and mine they look like they wear towards the bottom more than the top. Will you repaint that area as part of your regular seasonal maintenance? Have you had any rusting of the housing either during or after the snow season. And, how many grade 2 bolts do you usually go thru in a season of snow blowing. How many hours to you put on your snow blower in a season? I depend on my snow blower during the winter a lot, I just want to get an idea of what to expect. Also, I too have a grapple. I noticed that you do not have a center grill guard on this tractor. I can tell you that the first day I installed the 511 unit on my tractor, it saved my grill on the bonnet. I was stacking limbed logs onto a slash pile when one of the logs came rolling off the top of the pile and a very stout cut off tree branch came crashing down into my new grill guard. It did not dent the grill guard, but it sure put a big scratch on it and yes, it saved me much self criticism for not being more mindful. Carry on Gord, I really like how you run your channel.

Hello my friend. I became concerned for you while observing your tractor move and shift weight. Perhaps when you have your cab mounted for winter weather, you may consider installing wheel spacers. Spacers sure would help with the added weight on top and relieve some of us who enjoy your content. Be safe up there and wish you all well.

Another well done video, GP. I do listen to podcasts. KZbin content is limited to times where you can actually view the video. Podcasts can be done in background while doing other things like driving. A format like a talk show or interviews or discussions could work very well in both formats. You are a smart, sincere, respectful fellow and I think that you would handle differences of opinion gracefully. I’d subscribe.

Your comment on fuel consumption i thought was neat. Now i know how long i can run my B2650 before she runs out of go-go juice. When i was using the BH77 back hoe to dig out a detention pond in the back yard i noticed that running it about 8 hours a days was using between 4 & 5 gallons a day if that puts it in better perspective for viewers. My Kubota BX2370 i had used ½ gallon per hour at full RPM.

Hi Jeff. Yes, I was surprised I had a couple of them. The manual says to torque those loader mount bolts every 10-20 hours of use but honestly, I have not been that diligent. Happy I got it done to start the new season off on the right foot. Have a good evening!

Great video, Gord! i think you have both the intelligence and the voice to produce a really interesting podcast, and I also think your theme would be of interest. At this point I’m not a podcast fella (I struggle for enough free time to keep up with my favourite KZbin channels), but perhaps that may change in time 😊. Cheers!

Nice work along video GP, your demographics from YT is where you are coming up with your idea of where to start, would be interesting to see the graphs of age groups, country watched from, and time watched ( if you don't get their attention in the first minute, it explainable). Hi GP, I'd like to listen to your podcast and I think you are connecting with the right audience for that. Watching your 200 hour service, I noticed that you didn't drain all you hydraulic fluid when changing the filters. I thought the 200 hour service was replace the hydraulic oil and filters. At least I believe that is the way it is on my B2650 and I think they have the same maintenance schedule. See what you can find out. It doesn't make it clear in the checklist page but if you dig deeper into the every "hours" service section it shows that you drain and replace the fluid in the manual. Anyhow, the video editing is top notch and you have set the gold standard in our tractor community. Best, Dave
@GPOutdoors
@GPOutdoors 2 жыл бұрын
Hey good evening and thanks Dave. I will take a look into those sections. The 200 only required the trans filter to be changed but I changed both but thought the fluid only needs changing out at 400 hours. Big Expense as it needs alot, as you know. I will check - thanks for the great feedback!
@BeginnerforBSeries
@BeginnerforBSeries 2 жыл бұрын
@@GPOutdoors I believe you and Big Bear are correct now that I've opened the manual and dived in deeper. It shows replace at the 400 mark on the chart. Slightly confusing is the directions on the 200 hour HST filter change as it stated to drain the oil then remove the filter. I have my 200 hour coming up soon so glad to have discussed this with you guys. This is more like the initial 50 hour service. That could have been costly like you said and I was dreading it. Thanks!

This is a great idea and I'm looking forward to this especially since I'm Toronto/Haliburton as well. You asked for generational ideas so how about the different 'work ethic'? I didn't say good or bad...just different. In our day we dedicated ourselves to an employer but now it seems there is less of that. Goes both ways too..employers are different! 11:45 did that filter seal properly? You don't have to show it, but I only wanted to bring it up that you should put a film of oil on the filter gasket before screwing it on. I assume that is the implement hydraulic system filter as you already changed the engine filter at this point, but I don't know the tractor well enough to be sure. Good luck!

Gord, I noticed a couple of things that you do, that maybe could be improved on. The main one I noticed is when you use your Torque Wrench, you also use a 'standard' ( i.e. not specified or made for use on a torque wrench application ) socket extension, looks to me maybe it's a 4 inch or six inch model. You are not getting the torque as you have set up on your wrench when you use these. Don't take my word for this, please check and ask a specialist in Torque Wrenches, and you will see why these extensions should not be used. If you can't 'reach' the bolt or nut, then use a deep impact socket and or, buy an extension that is designed and built for use with a torque wrench. These will not twist nearly as much as do those standard extensions. These are points that I have been told by people who do know. I've spent all my working life in the mechanical field, of sales, service and rentals of construction equipment, so I speaking from some experience here and not being a" troll "here. You seem to be a person who likes to do things correctly, so I just thought that perhaps you might like to know this.
@GPOutdoors

As others have stated, you just reminded me that I need to tighten all of the nuts/bolts on my 3301L Kubota. As I recall, the torque recommendations are in the manual. I purchased a new diesel filter about a month ago and need to do that as well. Take care and stay warm my friend! Cheers from Central Oregon.

Hi Drew - great question. I only add what was left. The maintenance schedule does not call for a complete drain until 400 hours - in the interim, just filter changes. The fluid is super expensive to have to replace it from empty, so I will wait for the 400. Cheers!
