@@theoc007 increasing the power limit only increases the amount of power the card is allowed to use, so if the card uses more power its because it needs it to keep its performance. same thing happens with cars, you need more fuel to go faster, but its important to noe some engines have worse fuel economy despite being the same model and producing the same power; this indicates lower quality. maybe the silicon was lower quality too.

interesting fact: overclocking the 570 will get you pretty close to the 580 because some 580's have the same amount of cores. there's a variant of the 580 with 23xx (forgot) cores instead of the 2048 of the 570.

This is not the case, in fact the 580 is the one with the overclock, however the difference between the 570 and the 580 is actually quite small, even with the previous range, the 4xx series, I can also testify that these tests are correct because before I have had a 470 and currently I have exactly that same 580 model, Shappire Nitro+, although mine works at 2000MHz memory clock and the one in this video works at 1750.

I have bought two ex-mining RX 470. The last one died because I overclocked the memory and raise power limit. Now I want to buy RX 6600, but an ex-mining RX 570 8GB and even RX 580 are being sold for $70 now, it's so tempting.

570 is basically 470 with faster clocks. But the margin is different based on AIB cards. The Sapphire Nitro 470 with out-perform a reference 570 for example, and if you overclock the shit out of a 570 it will equal (or even beat) a stock 580. Polaris are all pretty close in performance and value, whatever way you look at it, and aged superbly well compared to Pascal because the AMD cards actually support Vulkan / DX12 on a hardware level.

My 570 and blower style 980Ti have been sitting in a dresser drawer well over a year and a half to two years and my 980Ti Strix joined them 4 months ago. The 570 is a decent card though.

Thanks... unfortunately I already swapped my sapphire rx 470 for a powercolor rx 570... The sapphire nitro one draws too much power, it trips my room's 230V 2A (450VA) MCB, even after underclocking and undervolting... The powercolor one is fine though, now running at 944Mhz/900mV...

i had a rx 470 used, i used it for 2 months and than it broke, the display just went off. i regret it because i bought it when was a chip crisis so i paid a 200$ for it. Now i have a rx 570 for a 70$ and it works very well. (both were used for mining i think)
