Had an Ian Murray designed & built one (so I was told) waaay back in the seventies . Nothing like these ! Still loved that boat & as a kid , I worked 2 part time jobs to support it. Used to sail it one up in big westerlies on the Clarence River with mates in other boats. Great times. Even sailed out to Solitary Island from Coffs.

They are called Cherubs. 3.7 meters, 51kg, I think the main and jib add up to about 10 or 11 square meters, the kite is bigger than that. +20knt in bursts down wind.. A good combined crew weight is about 150kg (which is why you see quite a few women sailing them)..

@@francoiscourcol6973 they are a "box rule" class so you can design/build them your self or employ a boat builder (though they are all very similar). In Australia you mite build one at home for $10k (maybe?) A professionally built one is probably $16k+ (depending on how fancy you were with the sails n stuff)? I don't really know. That's a sketchy guess.
