I really liked your drive at the start of this video Brad. Between the engine sound and the tranny whine, doesn't get much better than that for a "Car Lover!"

Well this brought back a lot of fond memories. I did an AAW wiring kit in my 57 Gasser about 10 years. Seems I recall having to do some improvising myself. I was not happy with their universal ignition, headlight or wiper switches, so I ordered new switches from Danchuck and switched the wires over to fit the original factory connectors. And they are very thorough in the amount of wires that they give you. Way more than I needed, as I wasn't going to be running power windows, door locks etc. In a Gasser. But I saved the wires incase the next guy decides he doesn't want a Gasser and might want some of the power options that I didn't. Definitely an expensive kit, but definitely worth the money. Thanks for the video. And the sense of accomplishment you get after rewiring your whole car, is priceless

Thanks David. I agree that the switched could be a bit better. Other than that, the kit seems pretty spot on for what I needed. It sure is nice to have everything in the car work - dome lights, blinkers, flashers, etc., etc. Hardly any of that stuff worked when I used to drive the car before. I appreciate you always watching.

I struggled a bit as usual, but the kit makes it simple enough for most people to handle it . Thanks!

Finally, was able to watch part 2 of you wiring the 55. Great instructions and organization although Moose was not available to give his seal of approval. All the little nuances that you find really help everyone else that is doing a wiring kit. Regardless of who the manufacturer is, the people that write the instructions know what they are doing and often do not use the correct group of words to paint a clear picture. The little stumbles that you encounter makes me respect your channel even more. The people that edit the video and make it appear to be seamless really do the viewers a disservice. Hopefully when you get part 3 edited and loaded for viewing, my neck will be healed, and I can break out the popcorn and drinks for a proper viewing. I really enjoy your channel and look forward to new content. Most viewers probably underestimate the amount of work that it takes to film, edit, and upload. For doing this, double fist bumps my friend, Keep Mobbin'

Yes those little tubes are for windshield washer wiper thingys .I don't remember how the cable hooked up but maybe you can ask Sonny at RatGas garage. I sent him a complete wiper unit for his wagon. Ouch that hurt. My 55 is now automatic. Maybe someday I'll go back to the muncie 😊

@MontanaGarage Жыл бұрын
What? Automatic? Blasphemy! Haha just kidding, auto are cool ,too. ( No there not I'm just trying to make you feel better) haha Doesn't matter what tranny is in your car it is awesome regardless. I should probably look into the wiper thing, as I still don't have anything hooked up. Someday...

On standard cars as old as your 55 the purple wires go to a clutch switch, on my 55 chevy pickup it is under the floor against where the pedal comes thru.

Everything is looking super neat. Lots of good information. These kits make it so much easier. I've helped wire a buddy's '69 Camaro race/street car about 35-ish years ago. Should have been a really simple job with minimal circuits but because he wanted to make it a street car also we had to do so much extra wiring....from scratch. Look forward to more. Be safe and stay well.

Thanks Brian. I'm not sure I could handle this project from scratch, but with the kit I can fumble my way through.

Ok, I’m building a 56 2 door seadan. It’s taken me two months to get as far as I am. Everything works from the dash rearward. No, the dash ain’t done. Dakota digital speedo/gauges, (needs a place for the computer), MSD digital 6al, electric fuel pump, electric engine cooling fans, battery in the trunk, trunk light, third brake light, air conditioning, cruise control, more, more, more……and yes the aftermarket switches 1. Don’t fit, 2. Looks stupid, and all the stock stuff fits and works. Oh, mine is gonna be a fully capable street/race car.

yup. over thinking. i'm guilty of it as is many others, i'm sure. not sure how to cure it except to just think it thru once, weigh the options, pick one and pull the trigger. this was a great video, nonetheless.

Thanks for watching Rick. I put a 4.56 rear gear in the 9 inch. I am planning on adding a gear vendors overdrive to help with the highway cruising.

Interesting! I have 4:56 in my 56 Chevy, from the old days. I have a 427 in the other end, or it will be back in the other end. I'm looking to put 3:55's or 3:70's, if I can find a Positrac like mine. Good video. I am also going to do the wiring thing too!@@MontanaGarage

What’s your rear gear ratio?
@MontanaGarage
@MontanaGarage 11 ай бұрын
I went with 4.56 rear gear. It's obviously not much of a highway cruiser, but I have a tall tire in the rear and I built it trying to be quickish. I hope to add a gear vendors overdrive this winter. Thanks for watching!
